Bank of America Loan Statement: Mortgage, HELOC, Auto
Quick Answer: Bank of America loan statements sit on each loan's Statements & Documents tab in Online Banking and the mobile app. Auto loans keep up to 18 months there while the account is open. A home equity line that has no printable statements can be requested through Help & Support > Contact us. Payoff quotes are free from Request a payoff on the loan.
Bank of America keeps mortgage, home equity and auto loan statements in the same place: open the loan in Online Banking or the app and go to its Statements & Documents tab. What differs by loan type is how far back the copies go, which year-end tax document you get, and the phone line to call when the copy you need is not online.

How do you find a mortgage statement in Online Banking?
Sign in, select the mortgage, and look at two places. The account view shows activity such as principal balance and next payment due, and Bank of America's home loan FAQ says you can see how each payment was applied both there and on the monthly statement. It also warns that a payment can take up to two business days to show online, so a missing payment the morning after you sent it is usually just timing.
The PDF statements and your Form 1098 are on the Statements & Documents tab of the active mortgage. Bank of America mails the 1098 by the end of January, or delivers it electronically if you enrolled. If you turned off paper tax forms, it appears in Statements & Documents no later than January 31. If it never arrives, the automated line at 866-669-6607 can send a copy after February 15. No 1098 is issued when interest paid for the year is under $600; that is an IRS threshold, not a missing document. The annual form itself is covered in detail in our guide to the Bank of America mortgage interest statement.
Reading the payment breakdown
A monthly mortgage statement splits your payment into parts. Our mortgage statement explainer walks through every box; for a Bank of America loan, the questions people usually have are these:
- Principal and interest. The interest portion is the month's interest on the balance; the rest reduces principal.
- Escrow. If taxes and insurance are escrowed, part of the payment goes to that account. Bank of America runs an escrow analysis and says your monthly escrow amount may change as a result.
- Extra principal. You can add an extra amount to a regular payment and have it applied to principal. If you pay by check, Bank of America asks you to write the extra amount on the Mortgage Account Statement coupon in the space provided.
- Misapplied payments. If a payment went somewhere you did not intend, the FAQ tells you to send the details and how you want it changed through the secure email channel in Online Banking.
How do you get a home equity statement?
Home equity lines behave a little differently. Bank of America says some home equity accounts let you print statements from Online Banking and some do not. If yours does not, sign in, open the Help & Support menu, choose Contact us, pick a topic and select Send a message to request the copy. You can also order statements at a financial center or by calling 800.934.5626.
Two more home equity details from the same FAQ: the interest breakdown for an active line is on the Information & Services tab under Interest Details, and the 1098 is under Statements & Documents, then Tax Statements, if you want it before the paper copy arrives at the end of January.
Auto loan statements and the interest letter
Bank of America's auto loan FAQ gives the clearest path of the three:
- In the mobile app, select automobile loans under Loans. In Online Banking, select the Mortgage, loans or lines of credit header.
- On the loan details page, select the Statements and Documents tab.
- Open, save or print any of the last 18 months of statements. That window applies while the account is open.
Paper statements are mailed 20 days before the due date, unless you set up automatic payments through Online Bill Pay, in which case monthly statements are not mailed. People who switch to autopay and then wonder where their statements went have usually hit this rule.
For the interest you paid last year, go to the accounts overview, select Automobile Loan, then Manage your loan, and choose Last year interest paid letter to download or print it. You can also call 800-215-6195 and ask for a faxed or mailed copy. Bank of America notes that the amount shown may not be fully deductible and points you to a tax advisor, which is good advice: whether auto loan interest counts depends on the vehicle and the rules for that tax year.
Auto loan interest at Bank of America is daily simple interest, so paying a few days early or late shifts how much of a payment goes to interest. That is why two payments of the same amount can show different principal figures on consecutive statements.
How do you request a payoff quote?
A payoff quote is not the balance on your statement. Bank of America describes a payoff statement as an itemized list of everything needed to fully satisfy the loan, prepared for you or an authorized third party such as a closing attorney.
Bank of America's digital banking instructions give the steps:
- Online Banking: select the mortgage or home equity line, then under Account Services choose Request a payoff (for a line of credit, Request a payoff/paydown). Complete the fields and click Get quote.
- Mobile app: select the home loan, tap Request a payoff (or Request Payoff or Paydown for a HELOC), complete the fields and tap Get quote.
- From Help & Support: the mortgage FAQ also describes selecting Mortgages, Loans and Lines of Credit from the Help & Support menu and then the Request a payoff link.
There is no charge for an online quote or a mailed payoff statement. If you overpay at payoff, Bank of America says the refund check goes out within 20 business days. After the loan is paid, tax statements are mailed to your address on file, so update your address before December 20 if you are moving.
Getting older statements or putting them in a spreadsheet
When the copy you need is outside the online window, the phone lines in the table above are the route, and it is worth asking whether a copy fee applies when you call. If your mortgage was transferred to another servicer, Bank of America's online access to it ends; ask the new servicer for later statements.
Lenders and accountants often want a payment history as rows rather than a stack of PDFs. For checking and card accounts, our guide to exporting Bank of America transactions covers the bank's own download options. For loan statement PDFs, QuickBankConvert can turn each one into spreadsheet rows (date, description, amount, balance) in CSV or Excel, which you can then stack into a year-long history. A free account handles a few statements a month; pricing lists the larger plans.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far back can I see Bank of America auto loan statements online?
Bank of America says you can access and save up to 18 months of auto loan statements while the account is open. For anything older, call auto loan customer service on 800-215-6195.
Is there a fee for a Bank of America mortgage payoff statement?
Bank of America's mortgage FAQ says there is no charge to have a payoff statement mailed to you or an authorized third party, and online payoff quotes are also free.
Why did my Bank of America auto loan statements stop coming in the mail?
If you set up automatic payments, Bank of America does not mail monthly auto loan statements. You can still view them under the Statements and Documents tab on the loan.
Where is my Bank of America Form 1098?
For an active mortgage, open the Statements & Documents tab in Online Banking or the app; Bank of America also mails it by the end of January unless you chose electronic delivery. If it has not arrived by February 15, request a copy at 866-669-6607.
What happens to my statements if Bank of America transfers my mortgage?
Online access to that loan ends after the transfer, and Bank of America issues a year-end tax statement only for the months it serviced the loan. The new servicer sends statements and a tax form for the rest of the year.
