Convert a Cash App statement to Excel or CSV

5 min read

Quick answer

Cash App publishes a monthly account statement as a PDF, available within 5 business days of month end. Download it from the app or from cash.app/account, upload it to QuickBankConvert, check the rows in the preview, and download CSV or Excel with a free account. If Cash App is funded from a bank account you also keep books for, read the section on double counting before you import anything.

How to download a Cash App statement

From Cash App's help article View Account Statements (read on 4 October 2026):

In the app

  1. Tap the Profile icon on the Cash App home screen.
  2. Select Documents.
  3. Tap Account Statements.

On the web

  1. Log in to your account at cash.app/account.
  2. On the left, click Documents, then Account statements.
  3. Click the dropdown arrow next to the year.
  4. Click View next to the month to open the statement.

The web route is the easier one for converting, because the PDF ends up on the computer you will upload it from.

Two timing points from the same article: statements become available within 5 business days of month end, so the previous month is not there on the 1st; and a statement covers one calendar month.

What a Cash App statement contains

Cash App describes the statement as showing your starting and ending balance for the month, fees, transaction history, direct deposit details, and your account and routing numbers. That makes it more complete than the activity feed in the app, and it is the document to convert when you need a month you can reconcile, because it has an opening and closing balance to check against.

Avoid counting the same money twice

Cash App's article notes that "any Cash App transaction funded to or by your bank account will be available to view on your external bank statement". For bookkeeping that has a direct consequence:

  • Money you add to Cash App from your bank appears as a withdrawal on the bank statement and as a deposit on the Cash App statement. It is a transfer between two of your accounts, not income.
  • A payment funded directly from your linked bank account or card appears on the bank or card statement too. If you import both statements as expenses, the purchase is counted twice.
  • Cashing out to your bank is the mirror image.

If you are converting both the bank statement and the Cash App statement, mark these rows as transfers after importing, or leave them out of one side.

Who converts Cash App statements

The usual reasons:

  • Sole traders and side businesses that take payments through Cash App and need the year's receipts in a spreadsheet for a tax return.
  • Bookkeepers who receive a client's Cash App PDFs alongside the bank statements and need both in the same ledger.
  • Reconciling a business account month by month against the statement's ending balance.

How to convert it

  1. Upload the PDF to the converter.
  2. Check the preview: the number of rows, the first and last transaction, and the ending balance.
  3. Download CSV or Excel, or an accounting format on a paid plan. Import steps are in the QuickBooks guide and the Xero guide.

What comes out

One row per transaction with date, description, category, amount and balance (the balance only when the statement prints a running balance). Amounts are signed: money out is negative. The account number, statement period and opening and closing balances are read from the statement and shown above the preview so you can check them.

On-screen preview onlyNo account: one statement every 24 hours, up to 5 pages
CSV, ExcelFree account: 3 statements a month, up to 10 pages each
QBO, QIF, Xero CSV, TSV, JSONPlus, $29 a month: 50 statements a month, up to 50 pages each

A statement longer than your plan's page limit is turned away before it is converted, so it does not use up a conversion. Files can be up to 4.4 MB. Current plans are on the pricing page.

What to check, and what can go wrong

  • Compare the totals. Before downloading, check the first and last rows and the closing balance against the PDF. We do not publish accuracy figures for Cash App or any other bank; the preview is there so you can verify the result yourself.
  • Use the PDF the bank generates. A scan or a phone photo of a paper statement is an image, and it is read less accurately than a PDF downloaded from online banking.
  • Password-protected PDFs are supported: you are asked for the password when you upload.
  • Your file is uploaded. It travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, is parsed on our servers, and a copy is stored. Ask us to delete it through the contact page. We never ask for your Cash App login. See the Privacy Policy.
  • It is not a bank feed. Cash App describes itself as a financial platform rather than a bank, and accounting packages may not offer a feed for it. A converted statement is a one-off import for one month; repeat it each month.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I download a Cash App statement as a PDF?

On the web, log in at cash.app/account, click Documents, then Account statements, open the year and click View next to the month. In the app, tap the Profile icon, then Documents, then Account Statements. These steps are from Cash App's help article, read on 4 October 2026.

When is the Cash App statement for last month available?

Cash App says monthly statements become available within 5 business days of month end.

Why do some Cash App transactions also appear on my bank statement?

Cash App notes that any transaction funded to or by your bank account also shows on your external bank statement. If you import both statements into your books, treat those rows as transfers so the money is not counted twice.

Do I need to give you my Cash App login?

No. You download the statement yourself and upload only the PDF. Nothing connects to your Cash App account.

What does it cost?

Previewing needs no account (one statement every 24 hours, up to 5 pages). CSV and Excel downloads are free with a free account: 3 statements a month, up to 10 pages each. Plus ($29 a month) allows 50 statements a month of up to 50 pages and adds QBO, QIF, Xero CSV, TSV and JSON. Pro ($59 a month) allows 200 statements a month of up to 100 pages and adds batch upload and client labels. Business ($99 a month) allows 600 statements a month.
