Quick answer
Navy Federal Credit Union keeps up to 36 months of statements in digital banking. Open the month you need, save it as a PDF, upload it to QuickBankConvert, check the rows in the preview, and download CSV or Excel with a free account. Navy Federal statements often combine checking and savings in one document, which affects how you use the result; see below.

Where statements are in Navy Federal digital banking
Navy Federal's page Switch to Paperless Statements (read on 4 October 2026) gives the locations:
- Online banking: sign in, then select Statements from the navigation menu.
- Mobile app: select More from the navigation menu, then Account and Tax Statements.
From there, open the statement for the month you need and save or download it as a PDF. That page documents where the statements section is; the buttons on the statement list itself are not described there, and menu names vary between app versions, so follow what your screen shows. Online banking on a computer is the easier route for converting, because the PDF is saved where you will upload it from.
Save statements before 36 months pass
Navy Federal states that with paperless statements "up to 36 months of statements are automatically saved for you and available to view or print anytime". Three years is shorter than the seven years several large banks keep online.
If you may need older history later, for an amended tax return, a mortgage application or a dispute, download each statement PDF as it is issued and keep your own archive. A statement that has aged out has to be requested from the credit union. Once you hold the PDF, it can be converted at any time.
Combined statements: one PDF, several accounts
Navy Federal's paperless page refers to Combined Checking & Savings statements and Combined Certificates & IRAs Statements: one document that covers more than one account.
Our export has one transaction list and one account header per file. For a combined statement that means:
- Checking and savings transactions arrive in one list. Use the section order in the PDF to split them by account in the spreadsheet.
- A transfer between your own checking and savings appears twice, once leaving and once arriving. Mark both as transfers so they do not count as spending or income.
- The closing balance shown above the preview may belong to only one of the accounts. Check each account's ending balance against its own section of the PDF.
- If the rows are going into accounting software, import each account's rows into its own account, as separate files.
How to convert it
- Upload the PDF to the converter.
- Check the preview against each account section of the statement.
- Download CSV or Excel. For accounting software, see the QuickBooks guide or the Xero guide.
What comes out
One row per transaction with date, description, category, amount and balance (the balance only when the statement prints a running balance). Amounts are signed: money out is negative. The account number, statement period and opening and closing balances are read from the statement and shown above the preview so you can check them.
| Download | Plan |
|---|---|
| On-screen preview only | No account: one statement every 24 hours, up to 5 pages |
| CSV, Excel | Free account: 3 statements a month, up to 10 pages each |
| QBO, QIF, Xero CSV, TSV, JSON | Plus, $29 a month: 50 statements a month, up to 50 pages each |
| The Plus formats, with batch upload and client labels | Pro, $59 a month: 200 statements a month, up to 100 pages each |
| The same as Pro | Business, $99 a month: 600 statements a month, up to 100 pages each |
A statement longer than your plan's page limit is turned away before it is converted, so it does not use up a conversion. Files can be up to 4.4 MB. Current plans are on the pricing page.
What to check, and what can go wrong
- Compare the totals. Before downloading, check the first and last rows and the closing balance against the PDF. We do not publish accuracy figures for Navy Federal or any other bank; the preview is there so you can verify the result yourself.
- Use the PDF the bank generates. A scan or a phone photo of a paper statement is an image, and it is read less accurately than a PDF downloaded from online banking.
- Password-protected PDFs are supported: you are asked for the password when you upload.
- Your file is uploaded. It travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, is parsed on our servers, and a copy is stored. Ask us to delete it through the contact page. We never ask for your Navy Federal login. See the Privacy Policy.
