Convert a SoFi bank statement to Excel or CSV
5 min read
Quick answer
SoFi makes a monthly PDF statement for SoFi Checking and Savings and does not mail paper ones. Download the statement from the Banking homepage, upload it to QuickBankConvert, check the transactions in the preview, and download them as CSV or Excel with a free account. No SoFi login is shared: you upload only the statement file. If you only need raw transactions, SoFi can also export them to CSV itself (see below).

How to download a SoFi bank statement
From SoFi's help article When will I get my Checking and Savings statement? (read on 26 October 2026):
- Log in to your SoFi account.
- On your Banking homepage, click Statements.
- Pick the month and year, then view or download the PDF statement.
According to the same article, the monthly statement for SoFi Checking and Savings is generally available within the first 5 business days of each month, and SoFi does not send Checking and Savings statements by mail. If you need paper, download the PDF and print it.
SoFi Credit Card and SoFi Invest statements are separate. SoFi's credit card help article says to look for the Statements or Documents link on the Credit Card account page to view the PDF of your monthly statement. For Invest, SoFi's article How do I view/download statement for my Invest account(s)? says to select Invest, choose the account, click the gear icon, and open Documents (on the website, Statements and tax forms). A credit card statement converts like a bank statement; see the credit card statement guide. Holdings and trades on an Invest statement are not bank transactions, so do not rely on them coming through.
SoFi already exports transactions to CSV
This is what sets SoFi apart from many banks. Its help article Can I export my Checking and Savings transactions? (read on 26 October 2026) describes a built-in CSV export:
- On sofi.com: select the Banking tab, click Export in the Activity section, choose the account and date range, and click Export to CSV.
- In the SoFi app: select the Banking tab, tap the Gear icon, choose Statements and Documents under Account Management, then Export Transactions, pick the account and date range, and tap Export.
SoFi says one export cannot cover more than 2 years, and that transactions are available from the date the account was opened.
So when is the PDF statement the better source? When the file has to match an official document: the statement shows the period, the opening and closing balances and the bank's own figures for the month, which a transaction export does not. Converting the statement gives you rows you can reconcile against those balances, and an accounting format such as QBO for QuickBooks. It also helps when you only have the PDFs, for example statements someone sent you, or a closed account you can no longer log in to.
How to convert it
- Upload the PDF to the converter.
- Check the preview against the statement, including the opening and closing balances.
- Download CSV or Excel. If the rows are going into accounting software, see the QuickBooks guide or Xero guide.
Why people convert SoFi statements
- Taxes and self-employment records. Sorting a year of deposits and card spending for a tax return is practical in a spreadsheet and painful in twelve PDFs.
- Applications that ask for transaction history. A spreadsheet lets you total income by source. Keep the original PDFs too: a lender or landlord who asks for statements wants the bank's own document, not a converted file.
- Budgeting. Monthly rows import into a budgeting spreadsheet, Google Sheets or an app as CSV.
What comes out
One row per transaction with date, description, category, amount and balance (the balance only when the statement prints a running balance). Amounts are signed: money out is negative. The account number, statement period and opening and closing balances are read from the statement and shown above the preview so you can check them.
| Download | Plan |
|---|---|
| On-screen preview only | No account: one statement every 24 hours, up to 10 pages |
| CSV, Excel | Free account: 3 statements a month, up to 10 pages each |
| QBO, QIF, Xero CSV, TSV, JSON | Plus, $29 a month: 50 statements a month, up to 50 pages each |
| The Plus formats, with batch upload and client labels | Pro, $59 a month: 200 statements a month, up to 100 pages each |
| The same as Pro | Business, $99 a month: 600 statements a month, up to 100 pages each |
A statement longer than your plan's page limit is turned away before it is converted, so it does not use up a conversion. Files can be up to 4.4 MB. Current plans are on the pricing page.
What to check, and what can go wrong
- Compare the totals. Before downloading, check the first and last rows and the closing balance against the PDF. We do not publish accuracy figures for SoFi or any other bank; the preview is there so you can verify the result yourself.
- Use the PDF the bank generates. A scan or a phone photo of a paper statement is an image, and it is read less accurately than a PDF downloaded from online banking.
- Password-protected PDFs are supported: you are asked for the password when you upload.
- Your file is uploaded. It travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, is parsed on our servers, and a copy is stored. Ask us to delete it through the contact page. We never ask for your SoFi login. See the Privacy Policy.

SoFi says the monthly Checking and Savings statement is generally available within the first 5 business days of each month. It does not send Checking and Savings statements by mail; download the PDF and print it if you need paper.

Yes. On sofi.com, open the Banking tab and click Export in the Activity section, then Export to CSV. No. You download the statement yourself and upload only the PDF. Nothing connects to your SoFi account.
