How to download a Novo bank statement
From Novo's help article Where can I download my account statements? (read on 26 October 2026):
On the web
- Log in to Novo.
- Open the profile menu at the top right and choose Settings.
- Click Statements at the top of the page.
- Pick the month and download the statement PDF.
In the Novo app
- Tap More.
- Tap Settings, then Statements.
- Pick the month and download the PDF, then send it to a computer if you want to convert it there.
According to the same article, monthly statements are available on the first of each month for the previous month, and Novo does not offer multi-month or partial-month statements. A second article, How far back can I access my statements?, says statements exist for every month back to the date you opened the account, but the website shows up to 24 months and the app up to 48 months. If you need an older statement than the website lists, try the app.
Novo is a fintech, not a bank: its site says banking services are provided by Middlesex Federal Savings, F.A., Member FDIC. Your statement still comes from Novo's own app and website, so that is where you download it.
Novo statement PDF or Novo CSV export?
Novo itself offers a CSV export, and it helps to know when that is enough. Its help article How do I download my transaction history? says you go to Activity (on the web it is in the left menu; in the app tap More, then Activity) and select Download CSV, either for all transactions or for a filtered date range. Novo also connects directly to QuickBooks and Xero under Apps, and its Xero help article says a new connection uploads your past year of transactions.
So why convert the statement PDF at all?
- The statement is the closed record. The Activity export reflects your account as it is today, while the statement is the document for a closed month, with its opening and closing balance. Accountants and tax preparers often reconcile to the statement.
- Older months. A sync starts from a point in time; a statement PDF covers a specific month you can still download.
- Someone else's account. A bookkeeper or accountant who receives a client's Novo statements as PDFs, without access to the account, needs a way to turn them into rows.
- A file your software can import. On a paid plan you can download QBO for QuickBooks or a Xero CSV straight from the statement.
Novo's help also notes, in Why is my statement incorrect?, that transactions near the end of a month can land in a different statement period depending on when they settle, and that Boost and Reserves can add extra entries, such as a Boost deposit, the Stripe deposit and a Boost reversal for one payout. Expect to see those rows in the converted file too.
How to convert it
- Upload the PDF to the converter.
- Check the preview against the statement, especially the first and last transactions of the month.
- Download CSV or Excel. If the rows are going into accounting software, see the QuickBooks guide or Xero guide.
Why businesses convert Novo statements
- Bookkeeping catch-up. Months of statements turn into one spreadsheet you can categorise, instead of retyping each PDF.
- Taxes. Totalling income and expenses for a Schedule C or a business return is practical in a spreadsheet. Keep the original PDFs too: a lender, auditor or tax authority who asks for statements wants the bank's own document, not a converted file.
- QuickBooks and Xero. A QBO file or Xero CSV imports the month's transactions into your books, which helps when a sync was disconnected or started late.
- Working for clients. Bookkeepers can convert a client's Novo statements alongside their other banks; see QuickBankConvert for bookkeepers.
What comes out
One row per transaction with date, description, category, amount and balance (the balance only when the statement prints a running balance). Amounts are signed: money out is negative. The account number, statement period and opening and closing balances are read from the statement and shown above the preview so you can check them.
| Download | Plan |
|---|---|
| On-screen preview only | No account: one statement every 24 hours, up to 10 pages |
| CSV, Excel | Free account: 3 statements a month, up to 10 pages each |
| QBO, QIF, Xero CSV, TSV, JSON | Plus, $29 a month: 50 statements a month, up to 50 pages each |
| The Plus formats, with batch upload and client labels | Pro, $59 a month: 200 statements a month, up to 100 pages each |
| The same as Pro | Business, $99 a month: 600 statements a month, up to 100 pages each |
A statement longer than your plan's page limit is turned away before it is converted, so it does not use up a conversion. Files can be up to 4.4 MB. Current plans are on the pricing page.
What to check, and what can go wrong
- Compare the totals. Before downloading, check the first and last rows and the closing balance against the PDF. We do not publish accuracy figures for Novo or any other bank; the preview is there so you can verify the result yourself.
- Use the PDF the bank generates. A scan or a phone photo of a paper statement is an image, and it is read less accurately than a PDF downloaded from online banking.
- Password-protected PDFs are supported: you are asked for the password when you upload.
- Your file is uploaded. It travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, is parsed on our servers, and a copy is stored. Ask us to delete it through the contact page. We never ask for your Novo login. See the Privacy Policy.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I download a Novo bank statement PDF?
On the web: open the profile menu at the top right, choose Settings, then click Statements at the top of the page. In the app: tap More, then Settings, then Statements. These steps are from Novo's help article, read on 26 October 2026.
When is my Novo statement available, and how far back can I go?
Novo says monthly statements are available on the first of each month for the previous month. Statements go back to the month you opened the account, but the website shows up to 24 months and the app up to 48 months. Novo does not offer multi-month or partial-month statements.
Can I export a Novo statement to CSV or Excel directly from Novo?
Novo exports transactions, not statements, as CSV: go to Activity (in the app, More, then Activity) and select Download CSV, with an optional date range. To turn the monthly statement PDF itself into Excel, CSV or QBO, upload it to QuickBankConvert.
Can I import a Novo statement into QuickBooks or Xero?
Novo can sync transactions to QuickBooks and Xero under Apps. If you work from statement PDFs instead, a paid plan downloads the converted statement as QBO for QuickBooks or as a Xero CSV.
Do I need to give you my Novo login?
No. You download the statement yourself and upload only the PDF. Nothing connects to your Novo account.
What does it cost?
Previewing needs no account (one statement every 24 hours, up to 10 pages). CSV and Excel downloads are free with a free account: 3 statements a month, up to 10 pages each. Plus ($29 a month), Pro ($59 a month) and Business ($99 a month) allow 50, 200 and 600 statements a month, raise the page limit to 50 pages on Plus and 100 on Pro and Business, and add accounting formats.
