5 min read
Quick answer
PNC keeps statements as PDFs in Online Banking under Statements and Documents: up to 7 years for checking and savings, 4 years for credit cards. Open the statement with View PDF, save it, upload it to QuickBankConvert, check the rows in the preview, and download CSV or Excel with a free account. You never share your PNC sign-on.

How to download a PNC statement PDF
From PNC's page Online Statements & Documents (read on 4 October 2026):
Online Banking
- Sign on to Online Banking.
- Select Accounts.
- Find and select the account you want.
- Select Account Quick View.
- Select Statements and Documents.
- Select View PDF to open the statement, then save it from your browser's PDF viewer.
PNC Mobile app
- Sign in to the PNC Mobile app.
- From the bottom navigation bar, select the More menu, then Statements and Documents.
- Choose between Online statements, Account documents or Other documents.
- Select an account, then a year.
For converting, Online Banking on a computer is simpler: the PDF is saved where you will upload it from.
How far back PNC statements go
PNC states the online retention per account type:
| Account type | Online statements available |
|---|---|
| Checking and savings | Up to 7 years |
| Auto loans and unsecured installment loans | Up to 7 years |
| Credit cards | Up to 4 years |
| Mortgage and home equity loans | Up to 5 years |
| Investment accounts | Up to 10 years |
This matters when planning a catch-up. Credit card statements drop off sooner than checking statements, so if you need both for the same period, save the card PDFs first. A statement that has aged out of Online Banking has to be requested from the bank; once you have it as a PDF, it converts the same way.
PNC also notes that a fee may be charged if you choose to receive paper statements. A scanned paper statement converts less accurately than the PDF from Online Banking, so use the online copy when it exists.
How to convert it
- Upload the PDF to the converter.
- Check the preview against the statement: first row, last row and closing balance.
- Download CSV or Excel for a spreadsheet. For accounting software, see the QuickBooks guide or the Xero guide.
Each monthly statement is one upload. For several years of history, Pro's batch upload takes a set of PDFs and converts them three at a time.
Checking, savings and credit cards
All three convert through the same steps. Two things differ for a credit card statement:
- Signs. Purchases come out as negative amounts and payments or credits as positive. Confirm that on the first few rows, because accounting software can expect the opposite for a liability account.
- The QBO and QIF exports label the account as a bank account. You choose the real account when importing; details are on the PDF to QBO page. For a spreadsheet this does not matter, and there is a separate guide for credit card statements to Excel.
What comes out
One row per transaction with date, description, category, amount and balance (the balance only when the statement prints a running balance). Amounts are signed: money out is negative. The account number, statement period and opening and closing balances are read from the statement and shown above the preview so you can check them.
| Download | Plan |
|---|---|
| On-screen preview only | No account: one statement every 24 hours, up to 5 pages |
| CSV, Excel | Free account: 3 statements a month, up to 10 pages each |
| QBO, QIF, Xero CSV, TSV, JSON | Plus, $29 a month: 50 statements a month, up to 50 pages each |
| The Plus formats, with batch upload and client labels | Pro, $59 a month: 200 statements a month, up to 100 pages each |
| The same as Pro | Business, $99 a month: 600 statements a month, up to 100 pages each |
A statement longer than your plan's page limit is turned away before it is converted, so it does not use up a conversion. Files can be up to 4.4 MB. Current plans are on the pricing page.
What to check, and what can go wrong
- Compare the totals. Before downloading, check the first and last rows and the closing balance against the PDF. We do not publish accuracy figures for PNC or any other bank; the preview is there so you can verify the result yourself.
- Use the PDF the bank generates. A scan or a phone photo of a paper statement is an image, and it is read less accurately than a PDF downloaded from online banking.
- Password-protected PDFs are supported: you are asked for the password when you upload.
- Your file is uploaded. It travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, is parsed on our servers, and a copy is stored. Ask us to delete it through the contact page. We never ask for your PNC login. See the Privacy Policy.
- Combined statements. If one PDF covers more than one account, the result is a single list of transactions. Split the rows by account in the spreadsheet.
