Convert a Chime statement to Excel or CSV

5 min read

Quick answer

Chime issues monthly statements as PDFs and does not mail paper ones. Export the PDF from the app or chime.com, upload it to QuickBankConvert, check the transactions in the preview, and download them as CSV or Excel with a free account. No Chime login is shared: you upload only the statement file.

How to download a Chime statement

From Chime's help article View or download account statements (read on 4 October 2026):

In the Chime app

  1. Tap Profile.
  2. Tap Documents, then Account statements.
  3. Select the account and month to view the statement.
  4. To export it, tap the export icon at the top right, and save the PDF to your phone's files or send it to yourself.

On chime.com

  1. Go to chime.com and click Log In.
  2. Click Profile, then Documents.
  3. Under Account Statements, select the account and month.
  4. Select a statement to download.

Chime emails you when a monthly statement is ready. According to the same article, statements are generated monthly for Checking and Savings accounts and by billing cycle for Credit Builder, and Chime does not provide physical statements: if you need paper, you download and print.

If you are on a phone, the website is usually the easier route for converting: download the PDF on a computer and drag it onto the converter.

A Chime statement can hold several accounts

This is the detail that matters most when converting. Chime's help article says a statement "may include separate sections for each of your accounts (such as Checking, Savings, or Credit Builder/Chime Card)", each with its own ending balance, under headings such as "Checking Account Statement" and "Savings Account Statement".

Our export has one transaction list and one account header per file. A statement with several sections therefore comes out as a single list. To keep the accounts apart:

  • Compare the row count per section with the PDF, then split the rows by account in the spreadsheet. Transfers between your own Checking and Savings appear once in each section, as money out of one and into the other.
  • Do not rely on the closing balance shown above the preview for a multi-section statement. Chime notes that a section can show a $0 ending balance even when money is available, and that your total is spread across the sections.
  • If you only need one account, check whether Chime offers that account's statement on its own for the month before converting.

How to convert it

  1. Upload the PDF to the converter.
  2. Check the preview against each section of the statement.
  3. Download CSV or Excel. If the rows are going into accounting software, see the QuickBooks guide or Xero guide.

Why people convert Chime statements

  • Self-employment records. Sorting a year of deposits and expenses for a tax return is practical in a spreadsheet and painful in twelve PDFs.
  • Applications that ask for transaction history. A spreadsheet lets you total income by source. Keep the original PDFs too: a lender or landlord who asks for statements wants the bank's own document, not a converted file.
  • Budgeting. Monthly rows import into a budgeting spreadsheet or app as CSV.

What comes out

One row per transaction with date, description, category, amount and balance (the balance only when the statement prints a running balance). Amounts are signed: money out is negative. The account number, statement period and opening and closing balances are read from the statement and shown above the preview so you can check them.

A statement longer than your plan's page limit is turned away before it is converted, so it does not use up a conversion. Files can be up to 4.4 MB. Current plans are on the pricing page.

What to check, and what can go wrong

  • Compare the totals. Before downloading, check the first and last rows and the closing balance against the PDF. We do not publish accuracy figures for Chime or any other bank; the preview is there so you can verify the result yourself.
  • Use the PDF the bank generates. A scan or a phone photo of a paper statement is an image, and it is read less accurately than a PDF downloaded from online banking.
  • Password-protected PDFs are supported: you are asked for the password when you upload.
  • Your file is uploaded. It travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, is parsed on our servers, and a copy is stored. Ask us to delete it through the contact page. We never ask for your Chime login. See the Privacy Policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a PDF statement from Chime?

In the app: tap Profile, then Documents, then Account statements, choose the account and month, and tap the export icon at the top right. On chime.com: log in, click Profile, then Documents, and select a statement under Account Statements to download it. These steps are from Chime's help article, read on 4 October 2026.

Does Chime send paper statements?

No. Chime's help article says it does not provide physical statements; you can download a statement and print it yourself.

My Chime statement has Checking and Savings in one PDF. What happens?

The conversion produces one list of transactions for the whole file. Split the rows by account in the spreadsheet afterwards, using the section headings in the PDF as your guide, and check each section's ending balance separately.

Do I need to give you my Chime login?

No. You download the statement yourself and upload only the PDF. Nothing connects to your Chime account.

What does it cost?

Previewing needs no account (one statement every 24 hours, up to 5 pages). CSV and Excel downloads are free with a free account: 3 statements a month, up to 10 pages each. Plus ($29 a month), Pro ($59 a month) and Business ($99 a month) allow 50, 200 and 600 statements a month, raise the page limit to 50 pages on Plus and 100 on Pro and Business, and add accounting formats.
