Halifax Bank Statement and Mortgage Statement Online

6 min readOctober 26, 2026

Quick Answer: For a Halifax current account, select the account, then the three-dot menu and Download or print statement in the app, or Statement options in Online Banking. The app reaches back at least ten years, Online Banking seven. Halifax is moving customers to the Lloyds app, where the same accounts appear. Mortgage statements are printed from the mortgage overview on a computer, or requested as a duplicate.

Halifax current account statements download as PDFs from the app or Online Banking, with ten or more years in the app and seven online. Halifax is closing its own app and moving customers to Lloyds, so your statements may now be in the Lloyds app. Mortgage statements work differently: one arrives each year on your mortgage anniversary, and copies come from Online Banking or a request form.

Has the Halifax app moved to Lloyds?

Yes, and it's the first thing to know if you can't find your statements where you used to. Halifax's brand change page (read on 26 October 2026) says the Halifax brand is changing to Lloyds and that Halifax has started to close its own app and online banking. Customers get an invitation inside the Halifax app to move across, and the move takes a few steps:

  1. Open the Halifax app and select the message inviting you to move.
  2. You're taken to the Lloyds app (or the app store, to install it).
  3. Verify yourself with the Halifax app.
  4. Confirm your username, accept the Lloyds online banking terms and choose whether to set up biometrics.

Halifax's page is explicit that once you confirm, access to the Halifax app and online banking stops. Your account numbers, sort codes, roll numbers, cards, PINs, direct debits and standing orders stay the same.

What this means for statements:

  • Download anything you'll need before you move, if you like to keep a copy. Your history should carry across with the accounts, but it costs nothing to save the PDFs first.
  • If you're paperless and don't move, Halifax warns you lose access to your online banking inbox, which is where it sends account documents. You can still manage accounts in branch or by phone.
  • Be wary of messages about the move. Halifax says any action starts inside your app or online banking, never from a link, a QR code or a phone call asking you to log in.

If you've already moved, the steps in the Lloyds app are almost the same; see our Lloyds bank statement guide.

How do you download a Halifax current account statement?

Halifax's help page View or download statements (read on 26 October 2026) gives these routes.

WhereStepsHistory
Halifax appSign in, select the account, tap the three-dot menu, choose Download or print statement, then pick the statements you wantAt least ten years
Online BankingSign in, select the account, choose Statement options on the account page, then print, download or order a paper copyUp to seven years
PaperOrder paper statements in the app's three-dot menu, or via Statement optionsArrives within 10 working days

The app's video guide also mentions a download icon sitting above your most recent transactions, which jumps straight to the month-and-year picker. Once a PDF is on your phone you can save it, print it or email it.

What about Halifax credit card statements?

Halifax treats credit cards differently from current accounts. Its help page says that if you have a credit card, you need to ask for a PDF statement through online chat, or download one in the app. Online Banking won't simply hand you a credit card PDF the way it does for a current account, so if the download option seems to be missing on the website, that's why.

How do you get a Halifax mortgage statement online?

The mortgage side is its own system. Halifax's page on getting a mortgage statement (read on 26 October 2026) offers two routes.

Print it yourself from Online Banking. You print the statement from the mortgage overview screen in Online Banking, and Halifax says you need a desktop or laptop computer for this; it isn't a phone feature. That printable statement shows:

  • your current balance
  • how much interest has been charged
  • all your payments over the last 12 months

Use the annual statement. Halifax sends a mortgage statement every year on the anniversary of the date you took out the mortgage. It gives a full breakdown of the account and payments over the last 12 months, a list of your interest rates and sub-accounts, and the early repayment charges that would apply if you paid the mortgage off in full.

If you've lost the annual statement, request a duplicate through Halifax's online form on the same page, or by phone.

Which mortgage statement do you actually need?

People searching for a "Halifax mortgage statement" usually want one of three different documents:

  1. A summary for a remortgage or affordability check. The printable Online Banking statement or the latest annual statement normally does the job, since both show balance, interest and 12 months of payments.
  2. Proof of the early repayment charge. That's on the annual statement, which lists the charges that would apply if you repaid in full.
  3. The amount to pay the mortgage off. Neither statement gives you this. Halifax says you need a redemption statement, which shows the full amount to close the mortgage including any interest and fees, and it has a separate request process.

One more detail from Halifax's page: its guide to understanding the annual statement is meant for customers whose mortgage account number begins with 10. If your account number starts with "A/", Halifax asks you to call with any statement query instead.

Going paper-free with Halifax

Halifax lets you change paper-free options for statements and other communications, and offers app notifications when a new statement is ready to view. If you go paper-free, documents go to your online banking inbox instead of the post, which is why the brand-change warning above matters: an inbox you can no longer log in to is an inbox whose statements you can't read.

Turning Halifax statements into rows

Halifax's statements come as PDFs, which suit a lender but not a spreadsheet. The statement help we read doesn't describe a CSV export, so for bookkeeping, budgeting or a tax return you'll either retype transactions or convert the PDF.

Excel's Get Data from PDF is worth trying first on a simple, bank-generated file. QuickBankConvert is built for statements: upload the PDF and it returns one row per transaction with date, description, category, signed amount and the running balance where printed, ready to download as CSV or Excel from a free account. It reads statements from UK banks as from anywhere else, though we haven't specifically tested Halifax's layout, so compare the closing balance with the PDF. Larger batches are covered on the pricing page, and PDF to Excel shows what the output looks like.
