Lloyds Bank Statement: App, Online Banking and Credit Cards

6 min readOctober 26, 2026

Quick Answer: In the Lloyds app, open the account, tap the three-dot menu and choose Download or print statement; the app goes back at least ten years. In online banking, choose Statement options on the account page to print, download or order paper, with up to 7 years available. Credit card PDFs are the exception: download them in the app, or ask through online chat if you're on the website.

Lloyds Bank keeps more statement history in its app than on its website: at least ten years in the app, up to seven in online banking. Current account statements download as PDFs from either; credit card statements download only in the app or by request through chat. Paper copies take up to 10 working days. For spreadsheets, Lloyds documents search and filters rather than a file export.

Where to find the download button

Lloyds' help page View or download statements (read on 26 October 2026) gives a short guide for each channel.

Mobile app

  1. Log in and select the account you want.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu.
  3. Choose Download or print statement, then pick the month and year.
  4. Save, print or email the PDF from your phone.

Lloyds' video walk-through on the same page also points to a download icon that sits above your most recent transactions, which is a shortcut to the same place.

Online banking

  1. Log in and select Statement options from your account page.
  2. Choose to print, download or order a paper copy.

Both routes give you the statement that Lloyds would otherwise post. Its paper-free help page says the online version looks exactly the same as the posted one, which is what you want when a letting agent asks for "an original".

How far back can you go with Lloyds?

This is where the app and the website differ, and it's the reason to reach for your phone first.

ChannelStatement history Lloyds says is available
Lloyds appAt least ten years
Online banking (website)Up to 7 years
Paper copyOrdered through either channel; arrives within 10 working days

If you need something from eight or nine years ago, the website won't show it but the app should. For anything the app can't reach, message Lloyds through Support in the app, or use its online chat; the help page says the virtual assistant handles most questions and passes you to a person when it can't. Our guide on how to get old bank statements covers what to ask for and how long older requests usually take.

Why won't online banking give you a credit card statement?

Lloyds answers this directly on its download page: if you have a credit card, you need to ask for a PDF statement, which you can do through online chat, or you can download a PDF statement in the app. So the "credit card statement" search usually ends in one of two places:

  • App: open the credit card, then the three-dot menu, and download the statement as you would for a current account. Lloyds' paper-free guidance notes that credit card and loan statements live on the account's statement page inside that three-dot menu, not in the Digital Inbox.
  • Website: start an online chat and ask for the statement as a PDF.

If you've gone paper-free, Lloyds emails you when a new credit card statement is ready, and you collect it from the account statement page.

Paper-free and the Digital Inbox

Going paper-free changes where your current account statements land. According to Lloyds' paper-free help page (read on 26 October 2026):

  • Current and savings account statements arrive in your Digital Inbox, along with most letters.
  • Credit card and personal loan statements go to that account's statement page instead.
  • Lloyds emails you whenever a new document is ready.
  • Once read, you can move documents to an archive where Lloyds says they will always be available.

You can choose paper-free per account and per type of document. In the app, it's under the Settings tab, Paper-free preferences; in online banking, Paperless settings then Manage paperless settings. Switching back to post for one account doesn't affect the others.

Before you send a Lloyds statement to someone

A few quick checks save a second request from a mortgage broker or landlord:

  • Whole months. Lenders usually ask for consecutive full months. Download each month rather than screenshotting the transaction list, which isn't a statement.
  • Every account they asked about. A joint account, a savings account and a credit card are separate statements at Lloyds, each downloaded from its own account page.
  • Your address and name. If you've moved, update your details first so the next statement carries the right address.
  • Unaltered files. Send the PDF as downloaded. Annotating or merging pages can make a lender doubt it's genuine.

Ordering a paper statement

Some organisations still want paper. In the app, the three-dot menu has Order paper statements; in online banking it's one of the choices under Statement options. Lloyds says these can take up to 10 working days to arrive, so order them as soon as an application asks, not the week it's due. Our guide to bank statements for visa applications explains when an embassy is likely to accept the PDF instead.

What does LBG mean on a statement?

People often search "LBG loan on bank statement" when a payment description starts with those letters. LBG is the usual short form of Lloyds Banking Group, the group that owns Lloyds Bank as well as Halifax and Bank of Scotland. A loan or card repayment to a group company can therefore appear with an LBG reference rather than the brand name you signed up with.

Lloyds' own merchant names guide, which lists descriptions customers commonly don't recognise, doesn't include an LBG entry, so we can't tell you exactly which product a particular line refers to. To find out:

  1. Tap the transaction in the app or online banking. Lloyds says you can select any payment to see its details and, for card purchases, a location.
  2. Match the amount and date against your loan, car finance or credit card agreements with Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland.
  3. If it still doesn't fit, message Lloyds and quote the date, amount and full description.

If a payment truly isn't yours, treat it as an unrecognised transaction and contact Lloyds straight away.

Can you export Lloyds transactions to CSV?

Lloyds' statement help pages describe viewing and downloading PDF statements, and searching transactions: by name or amount in the app, filtered by month and money in or out, and by description, amount, date range and transaction type in online banking. None of the help pages we read on 26 October 2026 describes a CSV or other spreadsheet export, so we won't describe one here. If you can see an export option when logged in, use it; it'll be cleaner than any conversion.

When the PDF is all you have, you can pull the table out with Excel's Get Data from PDF or Adobe Acrobat, or with a statement converter. QuickBankConvert turns a statement PDF into rows with date, description, category, signed amount and running balance. It isn't limited to particular countries, but we haven't specifically tested Lloyds' layout, so check the closing balance after converting. CSV and Excel downloads come with a free account, and pricing covers larger volumes. Our PDF to Excel page shows what the output looks like.
