Download Cash App Transactions: Statements and CSVs
Quick Answer: Cash App gives you two ways to get your history out: the Activity list, which you can search and filter (Cash App's help pages describe no export for it), and monthly account statements under Profile > Documents > Account Statements in the app or Documents > Account statements at cash.app. Cash App's help center describes a downloadable Transactions CSV only for bitcoin. For a spreadsheet of balance and card spending, start from the monthly statement PDFs.
To download Cash App transactions, open the monthly account statements: in the app tap the Profile icon, then Documents, then Account Statements; on the web sign in at cash.app and choose Documents, then Account statements. Each statement lists the month's transactions, fees and balances. Bitcoin, stocks and savings have their own document sections and tax forms.

Where does Cash App keep your transaction history?
Cash App splits your records into three places, and knowing which one you need saves a lot of tapping around.
| What you need | Where it is | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| A quick look at a payment | Activity tab (clock icon) in the app, or the Activity page at cash.app/account | On-screen list you can search and filter by date or amount |
| A record of a whole month | Documents > Account Statements | A monthly statement with balances, fees and every transaction |
| Bitcoin buys, sells and sends | Documents > Bitcoin | Transactions CSV, Gain Loss CSV and the year's tax form |
| Stock trades | Documents & statements > Stocks | Monthly investing statements, trade confirmations, 1099 forms |
| Savings interest | Documents > Savings > Tax Documents | Form 1099-INT if you earned at least $10 in interest |
Cash App's account activity help page says the Activity list includes everything sent from or received into the account: peer-to-peer payments, Cash App Card purchases, savings, bitcoin and transfers. It is the best place to find a single payment, because the search bar at the top matches recipients and payment types, and the Filter button narrows by date or amount. What it does not offer, according to that page, is a download button. For a file, you go to Documents.
How do you download Cash App account statements?
Cash App's statements help article gives these steps.
In the app:
- Tap the Profile icon on the home screen.
- Select Documents.
- Tap Account Statements and pick the month.
On the web:
- Sign in at cash.app.
- On the left, click Documents, then Account statements.
- Click the dropdown arrow next to the year.
- Click View next to the month to open the statement, then save it from your browser.
Cash App says each month's statement becomes available within 5 business days of month end, so the September statement is not something you can download on October 1. The statement contains your starting and ending balance, fees, transaction history, direct deposit details and your account and routing numbers. That last point matters if you send statements to a landlord or lender: the routing and account numbers are printed on it, so share it only with people who need it.
The web version is easier when you need a full year. The statements are grouped by year behind that dropdown, so you can work down the months in one sitting and save each PDF with a clear name such as cashapp-2026-03.pdf. Cash App's help pages don't state how many years of statements stay available, so if you need records from several years back, download them now rather than assuming they will still be there later.
One thing statements leave out: money that moved between Cash App and your linked bank also shows up on that bank's own statement. Cash App's article points you to your bank for questions about those transfers.
Can you export Cash App transactions to CSV?
For bitcoin, yes. For your balance and Cash App Card spending, Cash App's help center doesn't describe a CSV export as of October 2026.
The bitcoin CSV is documented on Cash App's Bitcoin & Taxes page. In the app, tap the profile icon, select Documents, select Bitcoin, then select the Transactions CSV. On a computer it is under your account at cash.app. Cash App notes this file may include peer-to-peer bitcoin transfers and transactions with external wallets, which can have tax consequences of their own.
There is also a Gain Loss CSV in the same Bitcoin section, which Cash App pre-calculates using first-in, first-out (FIFO) cost basis. Cash App says it is not available to everyone: accounts that sent or received bitcoin on the Bitcoin or Lightning networks, sponsored accounts, and accounts that sent bitcoin to other $Cashtags won't get it.
For everything else, you have three practical routes to a spreadsheet:
- Copy from Activity. Fine for a handful of payments, painful for a month.
- Use your bank's export. If most of your Cash App money comes from or goes to a linked bank, that bank's CSV download will show the transfers, though not what you spent the money on inside Cash App.
- Convert the statement PDF. The monthly statement already lists every transaction, so turning it into rows gives you the whole month. Our Cash App statement converter reads the PDF into date, description, category and signed amount columns, with the opening and closing balance shown above the preview. You upload the file; nothing asks for your Cash App login. A free account downloads CSV or Excel for 3 statements a month, up to 10 pages each, and pricing has the larger plans.
If you'd rather do the conversion yourself, the PDF to CSV guide covers what a clean result looks like and what to check before you rely on it.
Which Cash App statements cover bitcoin, stocks and savings?
Your monthly account statement covers the Cash App balance. Investing and bitcoin have separate records, and it's easy to miss them.
Stocks. Cash App Investing issues its own monthly statement, covering balance, holdings, transactions, dividends and any fees or adjustments. Per Cash App's investing statements page, it is available within 6 business days of month end. In the app, select the profile icon, then Documents & statements, Stocks, Monthly statements. Online, choose Documents, then Stocks, and click Open next to the month. Individual trades also have a trade confirmation, which appears one trading day after the trade: open the trade from the Activity tab and choose View trade confirmation under "What you can do."
Bitcoin. Bitcoin activity lives under Documents > Bitcoin, as described above, alongside the tax form.
Savings. Interest on Cash App savings is reported on a 1099-INT, under Documents > Savings > Tax Documents.
What do you need from Cash App for taxes?
The form depends on what you did with the account, and a personal account that only sent money to friends may get no form at all.
- Form 1099-K (business accounts). Cash App's 1099-K reporting page says that for tax year 2025, Cash App Business accounts that received more than $20,000 in gross payments and more than 200 transactions get a 1099-K, issued by February 2, 2026. Personal accounts don't receive one, unless the account was a business account that crossed the threshold before switching or closing. Some states have lower thresholds; Cash App lists $600 for several, including Maryland, Massachusetts and Virginia. Business account holders can download the form from Documents > Business online; Cash App says past years' 1099-Ks are available online only.
- Form 1099-DA (bitcoin). If you sold bitcoin, or paid a Square merchant with your bitcoin balance over Lightning, Cash App issues a 1099-DA by February 15 of the following year. Cash App notes that it issued Form 1099-B for bitcoin before tax year 2025, so older years will show a 1099-B instead. The 2025 form doesn't report cost basis, which is why the Transactions CSV and Gain Loss CSV matter: you need them to work out your gain or loss for Form 8949.
- Composite Form 1099 (stocks). Per Cash App's Stocks & Taxes page, you get one if you sold stock or received at least $10 in dividends. It is available by February 17, under Documents > Stocks > Tax Documents.
- Form 1099-INT (savings). Issued if you earned at least $10 in savings interest, available by January 31.
Cash App says it does not give tax advice. If your Cash App use mixes personal and business payments, a tax preparer will want both the forms and the monthly statements, because the forms show totals while the statements show which payments were which.
A month-end routine that keeps it simple
If you use Cash App regularly for anything you track, such as side-gig income, shared rent or a small business, a short monthly habit beats a scramble in March:
- About a week into the new month, open Documents > Account Statements and save last month's statement.
- If you hold bitcoin or stocks in Cash App, save those monthly documents too.
- Turn the account statement into a spreadsheet and tag the business payments while you still remember them.
- Each January and February, save the tax forms from each Documents section as they arrive.
If you're also pulling records from Venmo or a regular bank account, the Venmo transaction history guide and how to get a current bank statement cover those.
