Venmo Transaction History: View and Download Statements
Quick Answer: To see your Venmo transaction history, open the Me tab in the app and tap the Transactions toggle, or sign in at venmo.com and click the person icon at the top. To download it, go to Settings > Statements in the app (or Statements in the website sidebar), pick a month and year, and save or email the file. Venmo's statement is a CSV file, not a bank-style PDF.
Venmo keeps two views of your money. The feed shows recent payments one at a time, and the monthly account statement packages a whole month into a downloadable CSV file you can open in Excel or Google Sheets. Venmo is a PayPal service, not a bank, so the statement is a transaction record rather than a bank statement in the traditional sense.

How do you see your Venmo transaction history?
Venmo's help article Transaction History (read on 26 October 2026) describes two places to look.
In the app
- Open the Me tab.
- Tap the Transactions toggle under your profile picture. Your recent activity appears as a list.
On the website
- Sign in at venmo.com.
- Click the single-person silhouette at the top of the page to open your feed.
- Click any transaction to see its details.
Scrolling the feed works for checking whether a friend paid you back last week. It is a poor tool for anything that needs totals, a date range or a record you can hand to someone else. For that, use the statement.
How do you download a Venmo statement?
The same help article gives the steps for the downloadable statement.
From the app
- Go to Settings and tap Statements.
- Use the dropdown to choose the year and month.
- Choose how you want it delivered: download to the phone, or send the file to your email address.
Venmo notes that some files are too large to download to a device; in that case it emails the statement to you instead. That is the "Venmo transaction history email" people search for: it is not a separate report, it is the same statement routed to your inbox.
From venmo.com
- Sign in and click Statements in the sidebar.
- Pick the month and year from the dropdown. To switch years, click the year at the top of the dropdown.
- Click Download CSV.
On a computer the website is the easier route, because the CSV lands in your Downloads folder and opens straight into a spreadsheet.
Which Venmo accounts have statements?
Venmo says statements are available for:
| Account type | Who can download the statement |
|---|---|
| Personal account | The account holder |
| Teen Account | Only the parent or guardian, by selecting View statements while viewing the Teen Account |
| Business profile | The owner, from the same Statements screen |
| Charity profile | The owner, from the same Statements screen |
If you run a side business on a Venmo business profile, download that profile's statement separately from your personal one so business and personal payments do not end up mixed in one spreadsheet.
Does Venmo have bank statements or PDF statements?
Not in the way a checking account does. Venmo's help article describes the account statement as "a downloadable CSV file". It does not describe a PDF version, a mailed paper statement, or a statement with a bank letterhead and routing details. Searches for "Venmo statement PDF" or "Venmo bank statement PDF" usually come from one of three situations:
- A landlord, lender or agency asked for statements. Ask whether a Venmo CSV is acceptable. Many will want the statement from the bank account your Venmo is linked to, because that is a document from a regulated bank. Our guides on proof of income from bank statements and how many statements a mortgage lender wants cover what those reviewers look for.
- You want something printable. Open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets, tidy the columns, and print or save as PDF from there. Be clear with whoever receives it that it is a printout of Venmo's export.
- You need tax figures. Venmo has its own Tax Center in the help site for tax forms; the monthly CSV is the detail behind those totals, not a substitute for the form.
When is the CSV enough, and when do you need a statement?
Because the Venmo download is already a spreadsheet file, you do not need a converter for it. The CSV is enough when:
- you are totaling what you spent on a shared trip or a roommate's utilities,
- you are listing customer payments received on a business profile for your bookkeeping,
- you are hunting for a payment you do not recognize.
You need the bank's statement instead when the question is about money moving between Venmo and your bank: transfers out to checking, payments funded straight from your debit card, or a reviewer who wants an official document. Those entries appear on your bank's monthly PDF, often with a short Venmo descriptor rather than the name of the person you paid. Our separate article on how Venmo shows up on a bank statement goes through what those lines mean and how to match them back to the Venmo record.
If that bank statement is a PDF and you want its rows next to your Venmo CSV, QuickBankConvert turns the PDF into CSV or Excel. You download the statement from your bank and upload only that file; no bank or Venmo login is involved. The file is uploaded and processed on our servers, and you can ask for it to be deleted via the contact page.
How do you work with a year of Venmo history in a spreadsheet?
The statement is monthly, so a full year means twelve downloads. A workable routine:
- Download each month from the website, one after another, and rename each file with the month (for example
venmo-2026-03.csv) so they sort in order. - Open the first file and check its header row. Note which column holds the amount and how money out is shown.
- Paste the rows from the other eleven months under the first, keeping one header row.
- Add a column for your own category ("rent split", "client payment", "transfer to bank"). Our guide on bank statement categorization has a starter list.
- Build a pivot table by category and month to get totals.
- Filter out transfers between Venmo and your own bank before you total income or spending, or they will be counted twice once you combine the Venmo file with the bank's rows.
If the other side of your records is a PDF from your bank, convert it to rows first (PDF to CSV), then line up Venmo's "transfer to bank" entries with the matching deposits on the bank side by date and amount.
What to watch for
- Teen Accounts. Only the parent or guardian can pull the statement, so a teenager cannot download their own history.
- Large months. A busy business profile may get its statement by email instead of a direct download. Check the address on your Venmo account is current before requesting it.
- Feed versus statement. The feed is built for browsing, not records. If you need to prove a payment, use the statement row or the transaction detail screen rather than a screenshot of the feed.
- Privacy. A Venmo CSV contains the names of everyone you paid. Trim it to the columns and rows the recipient actually needs before sending it on.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far back can I download Venmo statements?
The Statements screen lets you pick a month and year from a dropdown, and on the website you can switch years from the top of that dropdown. Venmo's help article does not state a fixed limit, so check the oldest year the dropdown offers in your account.
Can I get a Venmo statement as a PDF?
Venmo's help article describes the account statement as a CSV file only. If you need a printable copy, open the CSV in a spreadsheet and print or save it as PDF yourself, and say that it is a printout of Venmo's export.
Why was my Venmo statement emailed instead of downloaded?
Venmo says some statement files are too large to download to a phone, and it sends those to the email address on your account instead.
Can my teenager download their Venmo Teen Account statement?
No. Venmo says Teen Account statements are available only to the parent or guardian account holder, who selects View statements while viewing the Teen Account.
Will a Venmo CSV work as a bank statement for a lender or landlord?
That is up to the person asking. Venmo is not a bank, so many reviewers prefer the statement from the bank account your Venmo is linked to; ask before you send the CSV.
