Scotiabank Bank Statement: Savings, Credit Card, Mortgage
Quick Answer: In Scotiabank online banking, select the account on your Accounts page, then Documents, and choose the statement. In the Scotia app, tap the account, tap Manage, then View all statements. Scotiabank archives statements for up to 7 years. Chequing and most savings accounts get monthly statements, credit cards usually monthly, and mortgages once a year between January and March.
Scotiabank statements live under Documents for each account in online banking and under Manage, then View all statements, in the Scotia app. Statements are archived for up to seven years, with 24 months available to view, print or download in the digital guide's terms. Statement frequency depends on the product, and the MomentumPLUS Savings Account doesn't get a regular monthly statement at all.

How do you view a Scotiabank statement?
Scotiabank's Statement Centre (read on 26 October 2026) gives these steps for eStatements.
Online banking
- From your Accounts page, select the bank account.
- Select Documents and choose the statement you want.
Scotia mobile app
- From the app's Home screen, tap the bank account.
- Tap Manage.
- Tap View all statements.
To print, Scotiabank's help article on printing account statements (read on 26 October 2026) uses the Communications Centre: from your Accounts page, select Communications Centre, then Documents, choose the statement, and select the printer icon when it opens in a new window. The Communications Centre also holds tax documents if your investments are on digital statements; select Tax Documents and choose the accounts and period.
If you get paper statements by mail, they won't appear online. Switching is under More โ Profile and settings โ Manage document delivery in the app, or Manage My Accounts โ Document Delivery on the web.
Does a Scotiabank statement show your address?
Yes. Scotiabank's Statement Centre lists what every one of its bank statements includes: your name and address, your account number, Scotiabank's address and phone number, and the transactions for the period (deposits, direct deposits, withdrawals, bill payments, fees and interest earned) with their dates. That makes a downloaded statement a common choice for proof of address. Each account gets its own statement, so a chequing account, a credit card and a line of credit are three separate documents. If your address is out of date, update it before the next statement is produced.
How far back do Scotiabank statements go?
Scotiabank's help centre answer on viewing bank account statements (read on 26 October 2026) says you can access up to 7 years of account statements. Its digital banking guide on eStatements adds a nuance: you can view, print or download 24 months of history, with statements archived for up to 7 years. For anything in that older stretch that you can't pull up yourself, Scotiabank's Statement Centre says you can visit a branch or call an advisor.
For credit cards there's a second limit: Scotiabank says that once you switch to eStatements you can access up to 7 years of them from the time you make the switch. Card statements from before you went paperless won't appear online.
How often does Scotiabank issue statements?
This varies more at Scotiabank than at most banks, which is why people searching for a particular statement sometimes can't find it.
| Product | Statement frequency Scotiabank describes |
|---|---|
| Chequing accounts | Monthly |
| Savings accounts | Monthly, except the MomentumPLUS Savings Account |
| Scotia Power Savings Account | Monthly, paperless only |
| Personal credit cards | Typically monthly, depending on activity, payments and balance |
| Investments | Quarterly |
| Mortgages and STEP | Once a year, between January and March, for the previous calendar year |
| Credit cards and lines of credit secured under STEP | Monthly, separate from the mortgage statement |
| Scotia Plan Loans | Not issued |
You can change the statement cycle date on most chequing accounts, except the Ultimate Package and the MomentumPLUS Savings Account, by calling 1-800-472-6842 or visiting a branch.
Why is there no MomentumPLUS Savings statement?
This is the question behind searches for a "Scotiabank Momentum savings account statement". Scotiabank's bank account statements page (read on 26 October 2026) says all its savings accounts issue monthly statements except the MomentumPLUS Savings Account (MPSA). The MPSA balance only appears on a statement if you also hold other investment products with the same ownership structure, for example all solely owned, or all held jointly with the same joint owners.
So if you hold an MPSA on its own, there may be no statement to find. For a lender who wants proof of savings, look at the account's details and transaction history in online banking, or ask Scotiabank what document it can provide for that account. If you want to understand the interest you see in the account history, Scotiabank's help centre explains that MPSA pays a Regular Interest Rate monthly on the daily closing balance, plus Premium Interest at the end of a Premium Period of 90, 180, 270 or 360 days, only if no debits were made during it.
Scotiabank credit card statements and the billing cycle
Scotiabank's credit card statements page (read on 26 October 2026) says all personal credit cards issue statements, typically once a month, depending on your account activity and whether you've made a payment or have a balance. A card you haven't used and don't owe on may not produce a statement for that cycle, which explains an apparent gap.
Card statements are mailed by default, and you can switch to eStatements at any time. If you use Scotia SelectPay installment plans, Scotiabank has a separate guide on where the plan details appear on your statement.
Mortgage and STEP statements
Scotiabank's mortgage statements page says annual mortgage or Scotia Total Equity Plan (STEP) statements are mailed or become available digitally between January and March each year, covering the previous calendar year. Each shows your interest rate, balance and term details.
Two practical points:
- The annual STEP statement is separate from statements for other products secured under the STEP. A secured credit card or line of credit gets its own monthly statement.
- If you need mortgage details mid-year, you don't have to wait for the statement. In online banking, select the mortgage on your Accounts page to see the account number, rate and term; in the app, tap the mortgage, then View details.
Can you download Scotiabank transactions?
Scotiabank's help centre article Can I download my transaction history in the app? answers "not yet" and says to sign in to online banking and select your account to download your transaction history instead. The article doesn't name the file formats, and it was last updated in 2020, so check the options on screen. Data downloaded from Scotiabank is cleaner than anything converted from a PDF.
Cheque images have a shorter window: online and in the app you can view images of cheques issued within the last 90 days; older ones need a call or a branch visit.
Turning Scotiabank PDFs into spreadsheets
For older years, closed accounts or statements a client sends you, the PDF may be all there is. Excel's Get Data from PDF works on simple layouts. QuickBankConvert converts a statement PDF into rows with date, description, category, signed amount and balance; it reads Canadian statements as well as others, though we haven't specifically tested Scotiabank's layout, so compare the closing balance. A free account downloads CSV and Excel; pricing covers larger volumes. See PDF to Excel for the output.
