Fidelity Bank Statement of Account (Nigeria): How to Get It

6 min readOctober 27, 2026

Quick Answer: For a Fidelity Bank Plc (Nigeria) statement of account, use the Fidelity Online Banking app or internet banking, which Fidelity Bank's own app listing says can "generate account statement". For a statement an embassy will accept, ask your branch for a signed and stamped copy. The *770# USSD service shows your balance but is not listed as a statement channel.

This guide is about Fidelity Bank Plc, the Nigerian commercial bank. If you want a Fidelity Investments brokerage or retirement statement from the United States, you are in the wrong place: see downloading a Fidelity Investments statement instead. Banks in other countries, including Ghana, also use the Fidelity name.

Which Fidelity is yours?

The name confusion is real enough that it is worth thirty seconds before you go further.

  • Fidelity Bank Plc (Nigeria) is a commercial bank licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (RC 103022, per its website footer). Accounts are in naira or domiciliary currencies, and its website is fidelitybank.ng. This article covers it.
  • Fidelity Investments (US) issues brokerage, 401(k) and IRA statements. Converting those to a spreadsheet is covered in Fidelity investment statements to Excel.
  • Other banks named Fidelity exist in Ghana and the United States. Each has its own online banking; the steps below will not apply to them.

The facts below come from Fidelity Bank Plc's website, its help FAQ and its App Store listing, read on 27 October 2026. Where Fidelity Bank has not published a detail, we say so instead of filling the gap.

Getting the statement yourself, online

Fidelity Bank's own listing for the Fidelity Online Banking app (published by Fidelity Bank Plc on Apple's App Store) names "Generate account statement" among its features, next to viewing all your accounts: current, savings, fixed deposit, domiciliary and card accounts. The same online banking service is available on the web at online.fidelitybank.ng, linked from the bank's homepage.

Fidelity Bank does not publish the exact menu path for the statement screen, so expect to find it under your account or a statements option once logged in. When you generate one:

  1. Choose the account. If you hold both a naira and a domiciliary account, each has its own statement.
  2. Set the start and end dates the requester asked for. A visa checklist that says "last six months" means six complete months up to the present, not the six months that suit you.
  3. Generate the statement and save the PDF with a clear name, for example fidelity-ng-savings-2026-04-to-2026-09.pdf.

If you cannot log in, Fidelity Bank's FAQ covers the usual blockers. A customer locked out after five wrong passwords is told to visit a branch or contact True Serve to be unlocked. Someone who is "not active on online banking" is told to visit the branch to be activated, then retry. Token problems (out of sync, wrong response) are resolved by the branch customer service officer or the virtual branch.

What about business accounts?

For companies, the FAQ is more specific. It says corporate online banking users with the inputter, super admin or authorizer role can view and download transaction history from the dashboard under the Transaction History menu. If you are not one of those users on your company's profile, ask whoever administers it.

Can I get a statement with *770#?

Not according to Fidelity Bank's published list. Its help FAQ sets out the *770# Instant Banking short codes, and they include:

What you wantCode Fidelity Bank lists
Check your balance7700#
Account number and BVN details7705#
Access the full instant banking menu7701#
Account officer's details77003#

There is no statement or mini statement code on that list. *770# is useful for confirming a balance before you apply for something, but it does not produce a document you can submit. If a code appears in the menu after an update, Fidelity Bank's FAQ page is where it would be listed.

To use 770# for the first time, the FAQ says you dial 770#, choose any transaction, and follow the prompts to register with your account number and a new PIN.

Statements for embassies, visas and loans

Fidelity Bank's public pages do not describe an "embassy statement" product, its turnaround time or its fee. What follows is general practice for statements submitted to visa offices and lenders, not a Fidelity Bank procedure.

Visa offices and lenders want to know that a statement came from the bank and has not been changed. A PDF you generated yourself proves neither. So most applicants:

  • ask the branch that holds the account for a statement covering the exact period required,
  • request that it be signed and stamped by the branch, and
  • where the embassy asks for it, request a separate reference or balance letter. Fidelity Bank's customer service forms page lists a Reference Form among its customer service forms, which suggests that is the starting point for a bank reference, but confirm with your branch.

Ask the branch two questions before you leave: what the charge is, and how long it will take. Fidelity Bank does not publish either on the pages we read. For country-by-country expectations, see our guide to a bank statement for a visa application.

Who to contact

Fidelity Bank's contact page and FAQ list these channels for its True Serve contact centre:

  • Phone (Nigeria): 0700 343 35489
  • From abroad: 0908 798 9069
  • WhatsApp: 0903 000 5252
  • Ivy (chat assistant on WhatsApp): 0903 000 0302

A branch visit is still the most dependable way to get a stamped statement, but phoning first can tell you whether your branch needs a written request or a form.

Reading the statement once you have it

Nigerian bank statements share a recognizable layout: account details and the period at the top, then a table with a transaction date, a value date, a narration, debit and credit columns and a running balance. A few things to watch:

  • Value date versus transaction date. They can differ by a day or more for transfers and cheques. Lenders usually look at the transaction date; interest calculations use the value date.
  • Narrations. Transfer narrations often include the counterparty's name and the sending bank. They are what a reviewer reads to judge whether income is regular.
  • Charges and levies. Small recurring debits (SMS alert fees, transfer fees, government levies) appear as separate lines. Totalling them for a year is a useful exercise in itself.

Moving the rows into a spreadsheet

If you need totals rather than a document (monthly income for a loan application, business expenses for a tax return, a check on how much SMS alerts cost you), you want the statement as rows. Retyping a six-month statement is slow and introduces mistakes.

You can upload the PDF to QuickBankConvert's PDF to Excel converter, which returns each transaction as a spreadsheet row with date, narration, signed amount and balance. It works from the file you downloaded, not from your Fidelity login. Statements generated by online banking convert more reliably than scans of stamped paper copies. For comparison, our guides for other Nigerian banks, GTBank statements to CSV and Access Bank statements to CSV, show how those layouts differ.
