ANZ Bank Statement: Download, Request or Export It

6 min readOctober 26, 2026

Quick Answer: In the ANZ App, select the account, tap Statements, open the statement and use the share icon at the top right to download or print it. In ANZ Internet Banking, select the account and click View statements on the left. ANZ keeps statements online for up to seven years. For a period no statement covers, generate a Transaction Report or order a replacement statement.

ANZ statements are scanned copies of the paper statements, available for up to seven years in the ANZ App and Internet Banking, including for closed accounts while you keep one account open. For in-between periods ANZ offers a Transaction Report covering the last 30 to 120 days, replacement statements by mail or email, and a transaction export covering the last two years.

Where are statements in the ANZ App?

ANZ's support page Access your account statements and notices (read on 26 October 2026) splits the app steps by account status.

Open accounts

  1. Log in to the ANZ App.
  2. Select the account and tap Statements (or Notices for letters such as rate changes).
  3. Tap a statement to open it.
  4. Tap the share icon at the top right to download or print.

Closed accounts, including cancelled credit cards

  1. Log in and tap More, then View statements.
  2. Choose the account; closed accounts appear at the bottom of the list.
  3. Open the statement and use the share icon.

Notices for closed accounts are only viewable in Internet Banking, not the app.

And in ANZ Internet Banking

  1. Log in and select your account.
  2. Click View statements on the left.
  3. Pick the account from the dropdown.
  4. Click Download to open the statement in a new browser window, then save or print it from the browser.

The Notices tab sits beside statements on the same screen.

Statement, Transaction Report or transaction history?

ANZ draws a line between these that's worth understanding before you send anything to a lender or the ATO.

RecordWhat ANZ says it isPeriodWhere

If a mortgage broker asks for statements, send the online statements. If they want activity since your last statement date, the Transaction Report is ANZ's answer for that interim period.

ANZ also notes that some accounts let you change how often you receive statements; you contact ANZ to change the frequency.

How do you request an ANZ statement you can't find online?

When neither the online statements nor a Transaction Report covers the dates you need, ANZ lets you order a replacement statement.

In the ANZ App: tap Support, then Message Us, and follow the prompts. ANZ says it may ask you to complete the request form in Internet Banking instead.

In Internet Banking:

  1. Select your account from the homepage.
  2. Select View statements on the left.
  3. Select Order a replacement statement.
  4. Choose the account, the date range and the delivery method. Use Add more dates if you need several separate periods.
  5. Select Submit.

ANZ says replacement statements take 3 to 5 business days by mail once processed, or two business days by email. This is the route for anything older than the online archive, too; our guide on how to get old bank statements has tips on how to word the request.

What happens to statements when you close ANZ accounts?

As long as at least one active account remains linked to your ANZ App or Internet Banking, statements for your closed accounts stay visible. Close everything, and ANZ warns you lose access to historical online statements and notices. Its advice before closing your last account:

  • Save electronic copies to your computer, or print the statements and notices you might need.
  • Switch your statement preference to Paper, so final statements and notices arrive in the mail.

Credit cards behave a little differently. If you report a card lost or stolen, ANZ says the statements and notices for transactions made on that card stay viewable online. And on any card statement, the last four digits of the card used appear under Card used, which tells you whether you or an additional cardholder made a purchase.

Our guide on closed bank account statements covers what to do if you've already closed every account.

Statements at tax time

ANZ's tax time page (read on 26 October 2026) points to the same seven-year archive for investment property and work-expense records, and adds an interest and charges view that's often more useful than a statement:

  • One account: select the account, open the Details tab and expand Interest and charges.
  • All eligible accounts: go to Settings, then under Account Preferences select View interest and charges summary.
  • Term deposits: select the term deposit, then the Interest history link.

The interest and charges view shows total interest paid, total interest received, and government charges and bank fees, for the current and previous financial years. For a home loan, the interest paid figure is usually the number your accountant asks for first.

Can you download ANZ transactions as CSV?

Yes, for open accounts. In ANZ Internet Banking:

  1. Select your account from the homepage.
  2. Click Download at the top of the Transactions tab.
  3. Select the time period.
  4. Choose a Software package option from the dropdown.
  5. Click Download.

ANZ says the export covers the last 2 years, or 90 days for V2 Plus accounts. It mentions CSV specifically, noting that a CSV file opens in a plain text editor such as Notepad if you have no spreadsheet program. ANZ's page doesn't list the other software packages in the dropdown, so check it when you log in rather than relying on a list here.

Two things to watch in the export. First, ANZ distinguishes the Processed date (when ANZ posted the transaction) from the Transaction Date (when the merchant carried it out); pick one consistently when you reconcile, or card purchases near month end will appear in the wrong period. Second, the export is only for open accounts, so download the history of an account before you close it.

Turning older ANZ statements into data

Beyond two years, or for a closed account, the PDF statements are what remain, and ANZ describes them as scanned copies of paper statements. That matters for extraction: scanned pages are harder for any tool than text-based PDFs. Excel's Get Data from PDF often finds nothing in an image-only file. QuickBankConvert reads statement PDFs into rows with date, description, category and signed amount; it handles Australian statements as well as others, but scans are read less accurately than bank-generated text, and we haven't specifically tested ANZ's layout. Reconcile the closing balance before using the file. See pricing for plan limits.

ANZ says you can view statements from up to seven years ago in the ANZ App and Internet Banking.

How long does an ANZ replacement statement take?

Once processed, ANZ says it takes 3 to 5 business days by mail or two business days by email.

Is my ANZ transaction history the same as a statement?

No. ANZ says the online transaction list is not an account statement; statements are periodic copies of the paper statement.

Can I export transactions from a closed ANZ account?

No. ANZ's transaction export is only available for open accounts, so download the history before closing.

Yes. ANZ says you lose access to historical online statements when every account linked to your online banking is closed, so save copies first.
