SBI Credit Card Statement: Download the PDF and Read It

7 min readOctober 26, 2026

Quick Answer: Log in at sbicard.com, choose View Statement, pick the month from the list of archived statements and click Download. SBI Card says the PDF is free and covers the latest 24 months (or since you registered, if that is more recent). E-statements also arrive by email; older months can be requested as a duplicate statement, which has carried no fee since 1 September 2022.

An SBI Card statement comes to you three ways: as an e-statement emailed to your registered address, as a printed statement posted to your mailing address, and as an online statement you download from sbicard.com. The online route is the quickest. It gives you a PDF for any of the last 24 billing cycles at no charge, and that file is what you open, file or convert.

Where do you download an SBI credit card statement?

SBI Card's own statement and billing FAQ (read on 26 October 2026) gives the website steps:

  1. Log in to www.sbicard.com with your User ID and password.
  2. Click View Statement in the centre of the dashboard.
  3. Select the statement date for the month you want from the list of archived statements.
  4. Click Download.

The same FAQ describes a slightly different path for simply viewing: log in, click My Accounts on the left, then Card Statement. Both end at the same archive. Either way, the window is the latest 24 months, or the period since you registered for online access if that is shorter. Someone who only created their login last spring will not see statements from before then on the website, even though the card is older.

If you have no online login yet, the SBI Card Online FAQ explains registration: click Register Now, enter your card number, CVV and date of birth, confirm the OTP sent to your registered mobile and email, then set a User ID and password. The site also lets you sign in with your registered mobile number and card PIN, or with your card number and date of birth.

In the SBI Card mobile app

According to SBI Card's mobile app FAQ, the app shows the card statement for the last 12 months, alongside unbilled transactions and six months of payment history. That is half the window the website offers, so for anything between 13 and 24 months old, use sbicard.com on a computer instead.

Through the ILA chatbot

SBI Card's virtual assistant, ILA, can fetch a statement too. Log in to the chatbot with your website credentials, ask "How can I download my card statement?", select the month from the archived list, click Submit, then Download.

Getting statements by email instead

E-statements are sent to the email ID registered on your card account. SBI Card lists several ways to subscribe: write in through sbicard.com/email, call the helpline, subscribe inside the ILA chatbot, or send an SMS from your registered mobile number to 5676791 with the text ESTMT followed by the last four digits of your card.

The FAQ says the email statement is delivered within 3 calendar days of the statement being generated. If it has not appeared after 72 hours, SBI Card points you first to your junk or spam folder, and Gmail users to the Promotions, Updates and Social tabs. Also confirm the address it is going to: in the online account, open Your Profile and then Quick Contacts to see the email ID on record.

A paper statement, by comparison, is dispatched by courier or post and should arrive within 10 calendar days of generation.

What if you need a month older than the archive?

SBI Card calls this a duplicate statement. It notes that an original statement is issued only once per billing period; any further copy, on request, is a duplicate. You can ask for one in four places:

ChannelHow to requestNotes from SBI Card
WebsiteLog in, click Requests on the left, then Request for Duplicate Statement, then pick the monthChosen from the list of archived statements
Mobile appMenu Tab (top left), Service Request, More, then Duplicate StatementSame login as the website
ILA chatbotAsk "How can I get a duplicate statement?" and select the monthUses website credentials
SMSSend DSTMT XXXX MM to 5676791 (last four card digits, then the month number)The SMS FAQ says this covers the last 6 statements, and premium SMS charges apply

Once the request is placed, the e-statement copy reaches your email within 3 calendar days and a physical copy within 10. On cost, SBI Card's answer is direct: with effect from 1 September 2022 there is no charge for a duplicate statement, whether you request it through the helpline, ILA, the app or email, or download it yourself.

For a statement older than any of these channels show, the helpline (39 02 02 02 with your local STD code, or 1860 180 1290, as listed in the same FAQ) is the remaining route. The FAQ pages we read do not give a maximum age for duplicate requests, so ask rather than assume.

Why is the SBI Card statement PDF password-protected?

An emailed statement is an attachment that anyone with access to your inbox could open, and a password adds a second lock on it. SBI Card's statement FAQ does not spell out the password format for its e-statement PDFs, and we have not seen an official page that does, so we will not guess one here. Look at the email that carried the statement, which is the usual place an issuer explains the format, or ask the helpline.

Once you have the password, any PDF reader that supports encrypted files will open it. If you plan to keep the statement in a folder for your records, you can leave it locked. If you want to convert it, you do not have to remove the password first: QuickBankConvert asks for it when you upload a protected PDF. There is more on how that works in our guide to password-protected statement PDFs.

How do you read the statement once it is open?

The first page carries the figures SBI Card refers to elsewhere in its FAQs: the statement (billing) date, the payment due date, the amount due and your available credit limit. SBI Card explains that the billing date is when the statement is generated each month, and the due date is when payment must be credited to keep the account current and avoid a late payment charge. You can also see the last billed date and due date in the online dashboard under the card summary. If the billing cycle does not suit your salary date, SBI Card says you can ask to change it by writing in or calling the helpline.

Below the summary is the transaction list for the cycle: purchases, payments, fees, interest and any EMI instalments. For a line-by-line walk through the sections a card statement usually has, see how to read a credit card statement.

Two practical habits help:

  • Check the period, not just the month name. A statement dated in March usually covers a cycle that started in February. When you are matching spending to a calendar month, the dates in the transaction lines matter more than the statement title.
  • Look for unbilled transactions separately. Purchases after the statement date appear in the app and website as unbilled and land on the next statement.

Turning the PDF into a spreadsheet

SBI Card's FAQs describe viewing 24 months of transactions online and downloading statements as PDFs, but they do not mention a CSV or Excel export. If you want the rows in a spreadsheet, for an expense claim, a household budget or a tax working file, you have three realistic options:

  1. Copy and paste from the PDF into Excel or Google Sheets. Workable for a dozen lines, error-prone for a full month because columns shift.
  2. Excel's Get Data from PDF (Microsoft 365 for Windows) can pull tables out of a text-based PDF, though multi-page statements often come through as several tables you have to stitch together.
  3. A statement converter. Upload the PDF to the converter, enter the statement password when asked, check the preview and download CSV or Excel. Each transaction becomes a row with date, description, category and a signed amount, so purchases show as negative and payments as positive. The file is uploaded over HTTPS and processed on our servers; a copy is stored, and you can ask for deletion through the contact page.

A free account covers CSV and Excel downloads for 3 statements a month, up to 10 pages each, which suits a cardholder sorting a few months. Other limits are on the pricing page. For card-specific layout tips, the credit card statement to Excel guide goes further.

Whatever method you use, compare the converted total of purchases and payments against the summary on page one before you rely on the spreadsheet.
