Sage Accounting Price: Sage Accounting, 50 and Intacct

6 min readOctober 27, 2026

Quick Answer: Sage's price depends on which Sage you mean. In the UK, the cloud product Sage Accounting was listed on October 27, 2026 at £20, £43 and £59 a month plus VAT for Start, Standard and Plus, with 90% off the first six months. In the US, Sage's small-business line is Sage 50, sold as Sage 50 Cloud with plans from $132.17 monthly on a one-year commitment, while Sage Intacct is priced by quote. Prices change; check the page for your country.

"Sage" covers several unrelated products sold under one brand: a browser-based package for small UK firms, a long-running desktop system that now also comes in a cloud edition, and a mid-market financial suite. They differ in price by more than ten times, so sorting out the names comes before comparing prices.

If you remember the name "Sage 50cloud," that was the earlier branding for Sage 50 with cloud connectivity. Sage's US pricing page now presents "Sage 50 Cloud" as the cloud-first edition and "Sage 50 Desktop" for a traditional install.

When we opened Sage's US address for Sage Accounting pricing on October 27, 2026, it redirected to Sage's general accounting software page, which featured Sage Intacct and Sage 50 rather than Sage Accounting tiers. US readers looking for the Start, Standard and Plus plans should ask Sage whether they are sold in their country.

Sage Accounting price (UK)

From the Sage Accounting UK pricing page, read October 27, 2026. All prices exclude 20% VAT.

TierUsersPitched forPromo pricePrice after 6 months
Start1VAT-registered sole traders and businesses just starting£2 a month£20 a month
Standard3Businesses with suppliers, CIS or accrual accounting£4.30 a month£43 a month
PlusUnlimitedInventory and multiple currencies£5.90 a month£59 a month

Every tier now includes payroll and Sage Copilot, Sage's AI assistant, according to the page. Sage Accounting Plus is the tier with stock and inventory management and multi-currency banking. The page also offered an alternative to the discount: skip it and take one month free on any of the three tiers.

Sage Sole Trader sits below Start for people who are not VAT-registered. Its product page listed it at £0.70 a month for six months, then £7 a month, excluding VAT, with bank feeds and the ability to import existing transactions from bank statements.

How much is Sage 50 Cloud accounting in the US?

From the Sage 50 US pricing page, read October 27, 2026:

PlanPrice shownUsersHighlights
Pro Accounting$132.17 monthly1Invoicing and bills, purchase orders, expenses, automated bank reconciliation, inventory, job management
Premium Accountingfrom $182.50 monthly1 to 5Adds multiple companies, advanced budgeting and reporting, serialized inventory, advanced job costing, audit trails
Quantum Accountingfrom $271.17 monthly1 to 40Adds role-based permissions, workflow and project management, industry features

The Premium and Quantum figures are the one-user prices; the page has a selector for more users. The fine print says a minimum one-year commitment is required and that the plan renews automatically. It also says that if the subscription ends, you keep read-only access to your data until the account is brought current. Payroll is an add-on priced by number of employees, and Sage offers bundled Sage 50 Desktop plans with payroll on an annual basis.

Sage Intacct pricing

Sage does not publish a price for Intacct. Its pricing page says plans are built for your industry and size, and asks you to request a quote. Compare it with other mid-market financial systems rather than with Sage Accounting or Sage 50, and ask any quote to spell out implementation and per-user costs separately.

What does Sage cost over a full year?

Promotional prices make the first invoices look tiny, so budget on twelve months instead. Using the UK figures above:

Sage Accounting tier6 promo months6 full-price monthsYear one, excl. VATYear one incl. 20% VATYear two, excl. VAT
Start£12.00£120£132.00£158.40£240
Standard£25.80£258£283.80£340.56£516
Plus£35.40£354£389.40£467.28£708

VAT-registered businesses can usually reclaim the VAT, so the excluding-VAT column is the real cost for many buyers. On the US side, twelve months of Sage 50 Cloud Pro at the monthly figure shown comes to $1,586.04 for one user, before payroll, and the one-year commitment means you are signing up for that whole amount. Redo these sums with the prices on the day you buy.

Which Sage would a sole trader, a UK company and a US business choose?

A UK sole trader not registered for VAT: Sage Sole Trader, especially if Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies to you. Move to Start if you register for VAT.

A small UK limited company: Sage Accounting Standard is the likely fit once you have suppliers to manage, need more than one login or keep accrual books. Choose Plus if you hold stock or bill in more than one currency.

A growing US business: Sage 50 Cloud Pro or Premium, depending on users and whether you need multiple companies or serialized inventory. If you have several entities and a finance team, the conversation moves to Intacct.

Weigh Sage against the other usual candidates too. Our comparison of small-business accounting packages puts it alongside QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books, FreshBooks and Wave.

How do bank transactions get into each Sage product?

Sage Accounting. Sage's bank connection page describes bank feeds that pull transactions from your bank and match them to invoices, payments and purchases, and names Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds and NatWest among the banks it connects to. For accounts without a feed, or months before it started, you import a statement file instead; our guide to importing bank statements into Sage covers the file layout.

Sage 50. The plans list automated bank reconciliation. Older history and accounts that never connect come in through statement import, after which you reconcile month by month; see bank reconciliation in Sage 50.

Sage 200. Sage's mid-range product has its own bank import routes. The Sage 200 bank transaction import guide explains the options.

Whichever Sage you use, the import needs a CSV-type file, and many banks give older months only as PDF statements. QuickBankConvert reads those PDFs and produces CSV or Excel rows you can rearrange into the column order your Sage import asks for, then import yourself. Check a month's totals against the statement before importing the rest.
