Found Bank Statement: PDF, CSV Export and Tax Packet

6 min readOctober 27, 2026

Quick Answer: In Found, open the Settings icon, choose Statements and documents, then Bank statements, and pick a month; it opens as a PDF. Final statements are ready by the 2nd of the following month. For a spreadsheet, use Export in the Activity tab, which emails a CSV that also includes manual bookkeeping items.

Found, the business banking app built for self-employed people, gives you three different downloads that are easy to confuse: a monthly PDF bank statement, a CSV export of your activity feed, and a yearly tax packet. Each answers a different question, and knowing which one a lender, landlord or accountant wants saves a second request.

Where are Found bank statements?

Found's help center gives the path:

  1. Log in to Found on the app or at found.com.
  2. Select the Settings icon and choose Statements and documents.
  3. Choose Bank statements to see the list.
  4. Pick the month you want. It opens as a PDF you can save or print.

Two timing rules from the same article: you can view a month-to-date statement whenever you like, and the final statement for a month is available by the 2nd of the next month. If someone needs "last month's statement" on the 1st, the month-to-date version of the previous month may not be final yet.

The statement covers transactions going into and out of your Found account only. Anything you logged by hand in Found's bookkeeping, such as a cash expense or a payment received into another bank, does not appear on it. That is deliberate: a bank statement is a record of the account, not of your business.

Found's help pages do not state how many months of statements stay in the list, so if you need a long history for a loan application, scroll the list early and save what is there.

The CSV export is a different document

When you want rows in a spreadsheet, the statement is the wrong starting point. Found's export lives in the activity feed:

  1. Go to the Activity tab.
  2. On mobile, tap the three dots in the top right and choose Export activity; on desktop, click Export.
  3. Select a date range and the details you want included.
  4. Select Export. Found emails the CSV to the address on your account.

The export includes everything in your activity, manual bookkeeping items included. That makes it the better file for your own analysis and the worse one for proving what passed through the bank account, because it mixes the two. If a reviewer asks for a bank statement, send the PDF; if your bookkeeper asks for your transactions, send the CSV.

Because the CSV arrives by email, check the inbox on your Found account, including spam, before exporting again.

Which Found document does your accountant need?

RequestFound documentWhere
"Bank statements for the year"Twelve monthly PDF statementsSettings > Statements and documents > Bank statements
"Your transactions so I can categorize"Activity CSVActivity tab > Export
"Your Schedule C numbers"Tax packetProfile icon > Tax tools > Tax documents
"Proof of the account for direct deposit"Voided check or signed bank letterStatements and documents > Account documents

The tax packet is worth knowing about. Found says it generates a Schedule C for sole proprietors, or Form 1120 or 1120-S for corporations, from your categorized business expenses, together with a tax summary, business reports and any 1099-NEC forms you created for contractors. To get it, tap the profile icon, select Tax tools, then Tax documents, choose the year and select Export tax packet, or pick individual documents. Found keeps tax documents for every year you have been a customer. There is also a Share with accountant option that invites your accountant to view the account directly.

Generated forms are only as good as the categories behind them. Before filing, compare the tax packet's income total with the deposits on your monthly statements; a large gap usually means transfers between your own accounts were categorized as income, or client payments went to another bank you never imported. Our self-employed tax spreadsheet guide shows how to lay those totals out side by side.

The IRS recordkeeping page says good records help you identify sources of income, keep track of deductible expenses and support items reported on your tax return. Saving the monthly PDFs alongside the tax packet each year gives you the bank side of that evidence.

Proof of account: the voided check and bank letter

Payroll providers and clients setting up direct deposit sometimes ask for a voided check or a bank letter instead of a statement. Found issues both:

  • Tap the profile icon (top right on desktop, top left in the app).
  • Choose Statements and documents, then Account documents.
  • Tap Voided check, Signed bank letter or both, then Send.

Both are emailed to you. Found says the voided check shows your account and routing numbers and your name, and the standard letter comes on Found letterhead with the account holder's name, account and routing numbers, the date the account was opened and a signature from your Found account manager. A letter like this confirms the account exists; it is not a balance confirmation, so a lender asking about funds will still want statements.

Combining Found with your other accounts

If some business money runs through another bank or card, you have two options. Found Plus and Found Pro subscribers can connect outside accounts through Plaid and import their transactions; Found says all users can usually try Connected Accounts for 60 days, after which a subscription is needed to keep importing, and imported transactions stay in your feed if the subscription lapses.

The other option is to keep the books outside Found entirely: export Found's CSV, download the other bank's statements, and merge them in a spreadsheet. When the other bank only gives you PDFs, QuickBankConvert converts them to CSV or Excel rows with the same date, description and amount columns, so they line up with Found's export; the PDF to CSV page shows the layout. Free accounts include CSV and Excel downloads for a few statements a month, and pricing lists the larger plans.

For how a similar app handles this, our Lili bank statement guide covers another self-employed banking app with its own statement and export split.

Before you close a Found account

Found's closure steps are in Settings: on desktop, click your profile name and the Settings icon; on mobile, tap the profile icon and the Settings icon; then scroll down and select Close Account. Support cannot close it for you. Closure applies to the business currently selected, so if you run several businesses on one login, switch to the right one first.

Found says you can still log back in after closure to transfer a remaining balance. Do not treat that as an archive. Before closing, save:

  • every monthly PDF statement you might need for taxes or a loan,
  • the tax packet for each year,
  • a final CSV export of your full activity, and
  • the signed bank letter, if a client still pays into that account.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is my Found monthly statement ready?

Found says the final statement for a month is available by the 2nd of the following month. A month-to-date statement is viewable at any time before that.

Does the Found bank statement include my manual bookkeeping entries?

No. Found's statements cover money moving into and out of your Found account only. Manual bookkeeping items appear in the CSV activity export instead.

Can I get a Found bank statement as a CSV?

The monthly statement opens as a PDF. For a spreadsheet, use Export in the Activity tab, which emails a CSV for the date range you choose.

Is Found a bank?

Found describes itself as a financial technology company, not a bank. Its banking services are provided by Lead Bank, Member FDIC.

Can I get statements after closing my Found account?

Found says you can still log back in after closure to move a remaining balance, but download every statement and tax packet you need before you close so you are not relying on that access later.
