East West Bank Statement: Copies, Fees and QuickBooks

6 min readOctober 26, 2026

Quick Answer: East West Bank (the US bank based in California) provides statements through its online and mobile banking, and its fee schedule effective 30 January 2026 lists copies of previously issued statements at no fee. Log in, open the account and look for its statements; call or chat with support for older copies. If you mean EastWest Bank in the Philippines and its "statement of account", that is a different bank with its own site, eastwestbanker.com.

East West Bank statements come from East West Bank's online banking for personal accounts and from BusinessExpress for small businesses. Copies of statements already issued are free under the current fee schedule, while a verification of deposit letter and research cost extra. Searchers also mix this bank up with EastWest Bank of the Philippines, which issues its own statements of account.

Which East West Bank do you bank with?

Two unrelated banks share almost the same name, and search results blend them:

The Philippine bank's site lists its head office in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Everything below is about the US bank; if your account is with the Philippine one, use the EastWest Help and Support Center instead, because its statement process, fees and terminology are its own.

How do you get a statement from East West Bank online?

East West Bank's public Online Banking page (read on 26 October 2026) says you must enroll in online banking first, that East West charges no fees for its online banking services, and that multilingual support is available by online chat or phone. The site itself is offered in English, Spanish, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese, which helps if you are more comfortable reading account documents in Chinese.

What the public pages do not spell out is the menu path to statements or how many months are kept online. We could not find an East West help page with those steps, so we will not invent menu names. In practice:

  1. Log in to online banking on a computer or in the East West Bank app.
  2. Open the account and look for its statements or documents section.
  3. Download each month as a PDF and rename it with the month.
  4. If a month is missing or you cannot find the section, use chat or call Customer Support and ask how far back online statements go for your account type.

Asking that last question once is worth it. Retention windows differ from bank to bank and sometimes by account type, and knowing East West's window for your account tells you how urgently to save older months.

What do statement copies cost at East West Bank?

The personal banking fee schedule, effective 30 January 2026 (read on 26 October 2026), is friendlier than many on documents:

  • Statement copy (a copy of a statement previously issued): no fee per copy.
  • Check copy (a copy of a check previously paid): no fee per copy.
  • Verification of Deposit (VOD) letter: $15.00 per letter.
  • Research (deposit account research, statement reconciliation and similar): $30.00 an hour, one-hour minimum, plus $0.25 per copy.

The practical reading: asking East West for an old statement should not cost you anything, but asking the bank to reconstruct activity or reconcile an account for you does. A VOD letter is what some landlords and lenders ask for instead of statements; if a lender will accept two months of statements, those are free and the letter is not.

Business accounts, QuickBooks and view-only access

Small businesses use East West's BusinessExpress platform. Its BusinessExpress page mentions a QuickBooks connection, and the bank's Online Banking Agreement describes it in detail as QuickBooks Direct Connect:

  • It covers eligible business deposit accounts (not CDs) that the enrolling user can see in online banking.
  • It is offered case by case at the bank's discretion and carries a monthly service fee for each enrolled user, set in the fee schedule for your product.
  • The agreement says information downloaded to QuickBooks is "for tracking purposes only", that not all activity may be included, and that the account statements generated by the Bank are the official record.

That last clause is the reason to keep downloading statements even when QuickBooks is fed directly: the statement is what an auditor, lender or tax examiner treats as the record, and it is what your reconciliation should match.

The same agreement describes View Only Access, an entitlement that lets a designated person see a business account's information, including transaction history, without transaction rights. For an outside bookkeeper that is often a cleaner arrangement than sharing an owner's login, and it lets them pull statements themselves.

Before you hand a statement to someone else

Statements from East West often go to a third party: a landlord, an immigration or visa file, a mortgage broker, a school's financial aid office. A few checks prevent a second request:

  1. Every page is there. Lenders count pages; a PDF missing its last page, even a blank one, can be sent back.
  2. The period is right. "The last two statements" means the two most recent closed cycles, not a date range you pick in the transaction list.
  3. The name and address match the application. If they differ, ask the bank to update your profile before the next statement, or attach an explanation.
  4. You are sending the bank's PDF. Edited, re-saved or screenshot copies raise questions. If you also need the numbers in a spreadsheet, convert a copy and keep the original untouched.
  5. A translation is separate. If an overseas office needs the statement in another language, it will usually want the English original plus a certified translation, not a re-typed version.

Getting older East West statements

Because statement copies carry no fee, the main cost of an older statement is time. Ask for specific months and accounts, say whether you need check images too, and ask how the copies will be delivered. If you need several years for a legal matter, mention it, since that may involve the research service rather than simple copies. Our guide to getting old bank statements has a short checklist for the request.

Working with the PDF

For a business on QuickBooks Direct Connect, the bank feed covers recent activity, and the statement PDF covers everything else. For a personal account, or months before a feed was connected, you will usually want the PDF as rows in a spreadsheet.

QuickBankConvert reads the statement PDF you download and produces one row per transaction with date, description, category and signed amount, plus the balance where the statement shows one. A free account downloads CSV or Excel; paid plans add QBO for QuickBooks, which is useful for loading months that a direct connection did not reach. See pricing for limits. You upload the file rather than sharing your East West login; it is parsed on our servers and stored, and you can request deletion through the contact page.
