Wise Bank Statement: PDF, Excel and Proof of Account
Quick Answer: Sign in to Wise, click your initials, choose Statements and reports, then Statements, and pick Create a statement. Choose the currencies, dates (up to 365 days per statement), format and language, then confirm with your Wise password. On the website you can pick PDF, XLSX, CSV, MT940, QIF or CAMT.053; the app offers PDF, CSV and XLSX.
A Wise statement is something you build on demand from the Statements and reports area of your account, choosing which currency balances or jars to include, the date range and the file type. A single Wise statement can cover up to 365 days, can carry an official stamp and signature, and only lists activity that went through your Wise currency accounts.
That last point explains most "my statement is incomplete" complaints, so it gets its own section below. Everything here comes from Wise's Help Centre, read on 26 October 2026, mainly the article How do I download a statement?.

Which Wise document do you actually need?
Wise produces several different files, and people searching for a "Wise bank statement" often need one of the others. Match the request to the document first:
| Someone asks you for... | Download this | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Bank statements for the last few months | Statement (Create a statement) | Statements and reports โ Statements |
| A file to import into accounting software | Accounting export (MT940, CAMT.053 or QIF) | Statements and reports โ Statements |
| Proof that an account number is yours | Proof of account ownership | Currency โ three dots โ Get proof of account ownership |
| A record of what Wise charged you | Statement of fees | Statements and reports |
| Every transfer, including ones paid from another bank | Transactions list | The Transactions page |
Marketplaces such as Amazon or PayPal usually want the proof of account ownership, not a statement. Wise's article on that document says some merchants ask for confirmation that your account details are held in Wise, and that the ownership document is what you share with them.
Two routes to the Statements screen
Wise gives two starting points, and they end up in the same place.
Starting from one currency or jar. Click the currency (say, your EUR balance) or the jar, select the three dots in the top-right corner, then select Statements and reports and the type of document you want. Wise asks for your password to confirm the download. Use this route when you only need one balance.
Starting from the home screen. Click your initials in the top corner, select Statements and reports, then Statements. Use this route when you want several currencies at once, because the next screen lets you tick more than one.
Under Statements there are three options. Create a statement builds a new file with your choice of currencies or jars, time period, format and language; anything you create there is saved under the Custom tab so you can download it again. The accounting exports are the MT940, CAMT.053 and QIF formats described below. The statement of fees is a separate document.
What formats does Wise offer, and which should you choose?
The format list depends on where you are:
- On the website: PDF, XLSX (Excel), CSV, MT940, QIF, or CAMT.053 (version 10 only)
- In the app: PDF, CSV and XLSX (Excel)
How to choose:
- PDF for anyone who needs to read it: a landlord, a consulate, a loan officer. It's the closest thing to a traditional bank statement.
- XLSX or CSV when you'll work with the numbers yourself in Excel or Google Sheets.
- MT940, CAMT.053 or QIF when you're importing into accounting or finance software that reads those formats. Wise describes these as accounting exports, structured so compatible tools can import them without manual edits.
For accounting statements there's also a checkbox to show fees separately. Tick it if anyone will reconcile the account, because a transfer of 1,000 with a fee folded into it is much harder to match than the transfer and the fee on two lines.
How do you get more than a year of Wise history?
Each statement is capped at 365 days. If a tax adviser asks for two and a half years, you'll generate three statements, for example January to December of each year, and keep them as a set. Wise also lets you select several currencies and jars in one go: on the website and Android, go to your initials, then Statements and reports, then Statement, choose the balances and period, and download. Depending on the size, you'll either get a zip file straight away or an email with a download link.
Name the files consistently as you save them (currency, start date, end date) so the set is easy to check later.
Why is a payment missing from my Wise statement?
Wise statements only include transactions made through Wise currency accounts. Suppose you sent money abroad by paying Wise directly from your high-street bank account, without the money ever sitting in a Wise balance. That transfer won't appear on a Wise statement. Wise points you to the Transactions page instead, where you can download a list of all your activity, including transfers funded by external payment methods.
On the other hand, the statement does show all transactions in the balances it covers, including any activities you've hidden from your activity feed. Hiding something in the app doesn't remove it from the official record.
Adding an official stamp and signature
Some embassies and banks only accept statements bearing a stamp. Wise handles this with a Stamp and sign this document checkbox at the bottom of the statements screen. If Wise hasn't verified your address before, it will need to do so first, so allow time for that if you're up against a deadline.
The proof of account ownership document works a little differently. According to Wise, if you have access to your account details, the document should be signed and stamped automatically. If it isn't, contact Wise support.
To download proof of account ownership on the website or app: select the currency, tap the three dots, then select Get proof of account ownership and Download. The same document is also under Statements and reports, and at the bottom of that currency's account details. If you can't see the option in the app, update the app and try again.
Wise business statements
Wise's statement article is written for currency accounts in general and doesn't set out a separate procedure for business profiles, so start from the same Statements and reports screens and contact Wise if your business view differs. Two habits make business statements more useful:
- Generate one statement per currency per month for your bookkeeping, even though Wise would let you do a year at once. Monthly files line up with how most accountants close the books.
- Download the statement of fees at year end as well. Having the fees in a separate document makes them easier to hand to whoever prepares your accounts.
When Wise's own export is enough, and when it isn't
If you can sign in to Wise, its own XLSX or CSV export is the cleanest route into a spreadsheet; no conversion step can beat the source data. Use it.
A converter earns its place when all you have is the PDF: statements saved for an application years ago, a PDF a client forwarded, or a pile of monthly files from someone who no longer has access. QuickBankConvert reads a Wise PDF statement and gives you one row per transaction (date, description, signed amount, balance where printed), downloadable as CSV or Excel on a free account. QuickBooks users can export QBO files on a paid plan; see pricing. For a walkthrough of a Wise PDF specifically, read our Wise statement to CSV guide, and if your files mix currencies, the guide to multi-currency statements explains how to keep the amounts apart.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is TransferWise the same as Wise for statements?
Yes. TransferWise renamed itself Wise, and statements for old TransferWise balances come from the same Statements and reports screen in your Wise account today.
How far back can a Wise statement go?
Each statement covers at most 365 days. Wise's help page says that for a longer stretch you download several statements, each one up to a year long.
Can I get a stamped Wise statement?
Yes. Tick Stamp and sign this document at the bottom of the statements screen. Wise may ask you to verify your address first if it hasn't been verified before.
Why is a transfer missing from my Wise statement?
Statements only cover activity through Wise currency accounts. A transfer you paid for by card or bank debit without holding money in Wise appears on the Transactions page list instead.
Which file should I give my accountant?
Ask which software they use. XLSX or CSV suits a spreadsheet, while the accounting exports (MT940, CAMT.053 and QIF) are meant for importing into accounting tools. Tick the box to show fees separately if they reconcile the account.
