Monzo Bank Statement: Download PDF, CSV or QIF in the App
Quick Answer: Monzo statements come from the app. Tap Home, tap the three dots under your card, tap Bank statements, pick a date range and choose PDF, CSV or QIF. Monzo says its statements are original documents, so a mortgage lender or visa office shouldn't need them stamped; if you do want a posted or stamped copy, you ask Monzo for one. Closed accounts get a password-protected statement by email.
A Monzo bank statement is something you generate yourself in the Monzo app: choose any date range, then download it as a PDF for a lender or as CSV or QIF for software. Pots are included. There is no branch to visit, so posted, stamped and closed-account statements are requested from Monzo directly, and closed-account copies arrive password protected.

Where are statements in the Monzo app?
Monzo's help article Getting a bank statement (read on 26 October 2026) gives the route in five taps:
- Tap Home in the app's menu bar.
- Tap the three dots underneath your card.
- Tap Bank statements.
- Choose the date range you want.
- Choose the format: PDF, CSV or QIF.
Two things in that short list are worth noticing. First, you set the date range, so you aren't stuck with calendar-month documents; a lender asking for "the last three months" can get exactly that period in one file. Second, Monzo says the statements cover Pots as well as the main balance, which matters if you move money in and out of Pots often: a statement that left them out would show transfers with nowhere to go.
Monzo is built around the phone. Its help centre has a section on logging in to the web app, but the statement steps above are written for the app, and that is where you should look.
PDF, CSV or QIF: which should you pick?
Most UK banks hand you a PDF and stop there. Monzo offers three formats from the same screen, and each one suits a different job.
| Format | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Mortgage, rental and visa applications; anyone who wants a document | Not editable or sortable without conversion | |
| CSV | Excel, Google Sheets, most accounting tools | Check the date and amount columns match what your software expects |
| QIF | Older personal finance software that reads the Quicken Interchange Format | Fewer modern tools accept QIF; check before you rely on it |
If you're filling in a spreadsheet, the CSV from Monzo is the better source than any converted PDF, because it comes straight from the bank's data. Open it in Excel or Google Sheets and you have rows to sort and filter. If your accounting tool wants a QuickBooks or Xero layout, you can still start from Monzo's CSV and rearrange the columns; our pages on Xero CSV files and the QuickBooks integration describe the layouts those tools read.
The PDF is the one to send when someone asks for "a bank statement" as evidence. It carries Monzo's formatting and is what a mortgage adviser or visa caseworker expects to see.
Do Monzo statements need a stamp for a mortgage or visa?
Monzo addresses this directly. Its help page says all of its bank statements are original documents, so you shouldn't need them stamped or signed for a mortgage or visa application. That is the bank's position, and in most cases a downloaded PDF will be accepted.
Some organisations still insist on a stamp, a signature or a paper copy. For those, Monzo says to contact it and ask for a statement by post or a stamped or signed copy. Because there are no branches, you can't walk in and have one printed, so allow time for the request. Our guide to bank statements for visa applications covers what embassies typically ask for and how long a period to include.
How do you prove your address with Monzo?
People often search for a "Monzo bank statement with address" because a landlord, employer or council wants proof of where they live. Monzo has a separate document built for that: the Account Ownership Letter. According to Monzo's help article on requesting an account ownership letter (read on 26 October 2026), it includes your full legal name, your registered address, confirmation that you have (or had) a Monzo account, your sort code and account number, IBAN, BIC, the last four digits of your active card, and the date the account was opened.
To download it as a PDF: tap the three dots at the bottom right of your card, tap Manage account, scroll to the bottom and tap Account ownership letter under Other documents. Monzo can also send it by chat or by post to your registered address.
If the address on the letter is out of date, fix it first. Monzo's steps are: Home screen, your profile picture, the Settings cog, your name, then your address under Contact details. You'll confirm the change with your PIN, fingerprint or face ID.
The Statement of Fees is a different document
Monzo also produces an annual Statement of Fees, which shows the interest you've paid or earned and any fees you've paid over the last year. It is not a transaction statement and won't satisfy a lender asking for bank statements, but it is useful if you're checking what an overdraft or paid plan has cost you. Monzo's help page says you find it by tapping the three dots on the account card, choosing Manage account and then Statement of fees, and that accounts opened on or after 1 October 2026 won't get one this year.
What happens to statements when a Monzo account closes?
This is where Monzo differs most from a high-street bank. Once the account is closed you can't open the app to pull a statement, so Monzo sends one to you. Its help article on full transaction history for closed accounts (read on 26 October 2026) says that when you close, Monzo emails a statement with your full transaction history, password protects the document and sends you the password by text or email.
If you've lost that email, or the account was closed by Monzo, there is a request form for UK accounts. Monzo asks for:
- your full name
- the email address and phone number used on the account
- the dates the statement should cover
- your account number, or which account you mean if you had more than one
- updated contact details if yours have changed
- a selfie holding your ID, or holding a piece of paper with today's date on it
Monzo aims to reply within 2 working days and says it may take up to 7. If you can't use the form or email, it lists a phone number on the same page. Save the password text alongside the PDF; a password-protected statement you can't open is not much use six months later. Our guide on statements for closed bank accounts covers the same problem at other banks.
Turning a Monzo PDF into a spreadsheet
While the account is open, take the CSV from the app; it is the cleanest source. Conversion is for the cases where a PDF is all you have: the closed-account statement Monzo emailed you, or a PDF someone else sent you, such as a tenant's or a client's.
You can try Excel's Get Data from PDF first. For a statement that Excel splits awkwardly, QuickBankConvert reads bank-generated statement PDFs into rows with date, description, category and a signed amount, and a password-protected file is fine: you're asked for the password when you upload. It works on statement PDFs whatever the bank's country, though we haven't specifically tested Monzo's layout, so compare the closing balance with the PDF before you rely on the output. A free account downloads CSV and Excel; pricing lists the larger allowances.
