SchoolsFirst Bank Statement: eStatements and CSV Export

6 min readOctober 26, 2026

Quick Answer: Log in to SchoolsFirst FCU Online Banking or the mobile app and download your monthly statement as a PDF; SchoolsFirst says eStatements stay viewable for up to seven years and include images of cleared checks. For a spreadsheet of credit card activity, SchoolsFirst's own tutorial has you search the card's Activity section by date and export the results as CSV from a computer.

A SchoolsFirst statement is a monthly PDF you download from Online Banking or the SchoolsFirst mobile app, where the credit union keeps up to seven years of eStatements alongside your tax forms. SchoolsFirst emails you when each one is ready. If what you actually need is rows in Excel, the credit union offers a CSV export of searched activity, and the PDF covers anything that export does not.

Who this applies to

SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union was founded in 1934 for California school employees and their families. On its About Us page (read on 26 October 2026) it describes itself as the largest credit union in California, with more than 1.6 million members and over 70 branches in the state. Membership is open to school employees, their family members, students and certain service providers.

That membership profile shapes why people come looking for statements. Teachers and classified staff are often asked for statements when refinancing, renting, applying for a credential-related loan, or sorting out a year of tutoring or summer-school income for taxes. SchoolsFirst also offers a Summer Saver account that lets school employees set money aside for the months without a paycheck, so a "statement" request sometimes means that account rather than checking.

What does a SchoolsFirst eStatement include?

From SchoolsFirst's Mobile & Online Banking page (read on 26 October 2026), eStatements give you:

  • An email notification each month when the statement is available
  • Images of cleared checks, viewable alongside the statement
  • Access to view and print up to seven years of statements

The check images are the part people overlook. If a landlord or a district payroll office disputes whether a check cleared, the eStatement archive shows the image without a separate request to the credit union.

How do you download a SchoolsFirst statement?

SchoolsFirst lists "Download statements and tax forms" as an Online Banking feature and "Download monthly statements and tax forms" as a mobile app feature. The general route is the same on both:

  1. Sign in at online.schoolsfirstfcu.org or open the SchoolsFirst app (App Store or Google Play).
  2. Go to the statements area for your account.
  3. Pick the month you need and download or save the PDF.
  4. Repeat for each month; tax forms sit in the same documents area at year end.

SchoolsFirst's public pages do not name the exact menu labels inside Online Banking, so we have kept steps 2 and 3 general rather than guess at button names. If you cannot find the statements area, the credit union offers live chat inside Online Banking, according to the same page.

Enrollment in eStatements happens inside Online Banking too. The public page sends you to log in to enroll and does not list a separate signup form.

Building a year of credit card activity in CSV

SchoolsFirst publishes a credit card statement tutorial (read on 26 October 2026) aimed at members who want an annual summary of card spending. It is the clearest export instruction on the credit union's site:

  1. Use a laptop or desktop computer, not the app.
  2. Log in to Online Banking and click your credit card on the account dashboard.
  3. Click the magnifying glass in the Activity section, enter the date range you want, and click Search.
  4. Review the transactions and their categories; the tutorial notes you can correct a category by hand.
  5. Click the downward arrow to export, choosing CSV if you plan to open the file in Excel.
  6. Find the file in your Downloads folder (File Explorer on Windows, Finder on a Mac).

The tutorial is written for credit cards. It does not say whether the same search-and-export works on checking or savings, so test it on your deposit account before planning around it. SchoolsFirst's public pages also do not mention QFX, QBO or Quicken downloads; if you use Quicken, check inside Online Banking or ask the credit union.

Converting a SchoolsFirst PDF to Excel

When the CSV export is not available for the account or the period, start from the monthly PDFs. You can paste a short statement into Excel by hand, try Excel's Get Data from PDF feature, or use a converter. QuickBankConvert reads statement PDFs into one row per transaction (date, description, category, signed amount, and balance when the statement shows one) and displays the statement period and opening and closing balance above the preview so you can compare them to the PDF. You upload only the downloaded file; no SchoolsFirst login is asked for. Files go to our servers for parsing and a copy is retained, which you can ask us to delete through the contact page.

A free account covers CSV and Excel downloads for a few statements a month; accounting formats such as QBO and QFX are on paid plans, shown on the pricing page. For notes that apply to credit union layouts in general, see converting a credit union statement to Excel.

Things to watch with credit union statements:

  • Several accounts in one PDF. A member statement can list savings, checking, and loans in separate sections. The conversion produces one list, so split it by section afterwards and check each section's ending balance on its own.
  • Dividends, not interest. Earnings on credit union deposit accounts are usually called dividends, so search for that word when totaling income.
  • Scans read worse. A photo of a paper statement is read less accurately than the PDF you download from Online Banking.

Sending statements to a lender or landlord

School employees paid on a ten-month or twelve-month schedule often find that a lender's "last two months of statements" request lands in July or August, when deposits look thin. Rather than editing anything, download the full statements the lender asked for and add a short note, or a statement from the months before, that shows the regular payroll deposits. Send the PDFs exactly as SchoolsFirst produced them: a converted spreadsheet is useful for your own totals, but an underwriter will usually want the credit union's document. Before sending, check that the statement period printed on each PDF matches the months requested and that every page is included, since a multi-account statement can run longer than you expect.

What about statements older than seven years?

Beyond the seven-year eStatement window, contact SchoolsFirst member services and ask for copies of the specific months. Ask whether a research or copy fee applies before they pull them; the credit union's public pages do not list one, so we have not quoted an amount. Our guide on how to get old bank statements covers what to include in the request. If you are collecting statements for a tax return, also see how long to keep bank statements for taxes.
