Santander Bank Statement: Online PDFs and Older Copies

7 min readOctober 26, 2026

Quick Answer: Log in to Santander Online Banking, open Statements & Documents from the navigation menu, and choose PDF (or Download) next to the month you want. Online Banking keeps up to 25 months of deposit statements. For anything older, use Statement Copy Request under Account Services, call 877-768-2265 or visit a branch; Santander stores statement images for seven rolling years, and a copy fee applies.

A Santander Bank statement for a US checking or savings account is a monthly PDF you open from Statements & Documents in Online Banking. The site shows roughly two years of them. Older months still exist in Santander's seven-year archive, but you order those as paid copies rather than downloading them, so it pays to save each PDF while it is still online.

Santander US or Santander UK?

Search results mix two different banks. This guide covers Santander Bank, N.A., the US bank at santanderbank.com. Santander UK has its own website, app, statement menus and retention rules, and nothing below applies to it.

Two recent changes on the US side are worth knowing before you go looking for old paperwork:

  • Webster Bank is now part of Santander. Santander's FAQ says the merger of Webster Bank into Santander Bank, N.A. completed on 20 August 2026, and Webster now operates as a division. The same FAQ says Santander customers keep using Santander Online Banking and the Santander app as before, and that Webster branches cannot yet help with Santander-based accounts. That FAQ is written for Santander customers; if your account was opened at Webster, follow Webster's own instructions, because the menus below are Santander's.
  • Openbank is a Santander division. Openbank customers use the Openbank app, not Santander Online Banking, so the menu names here are not theirs.

What does Santander keep online, and for how long?

Santander's help pages give two numbers, and the gap between them decides how you get a given month.

Statement ageWhere it isHow you get itCost
Current month back to 25 monthsOnline Banking, Statements & DocumentsOpen or download the PDF yourselfFree
26 months to 7 yearsSantander's statement archiveStatement Copy Request, phone or branchStatement Copy Fee
Older than 7 rolling calendar yearsNot kept, per SantanderYour own saved files onlyn/a

The account basics FAQ (read on 26 October 2026) puts it plainly: you can "view, save, or print up to 25 months of your deposit statements", and "the Bank stores copies/images of statements for a period of 7 rolling calendar years", meaning the statement month cannot be more than seven years before the month you ask.

For a mortgage application that wants the last two or three months, the online archive is all you need. For an audit, an amended tax return, or a divorce or estate file that reaches back four years, you are in copy-request territory.

How do you download a Santander statement PDF?

Santander's View My Statements help page, read on 26 October 2026, gives these steps:

  1. Log in to Santander Online Banking at santanderbank.com.
  2. Click Statements & Documents in the navigation menu.
  3. Find the statement month you want.
  4. Under Action, pick View in PDF/Text Format or Download.
  5. Click Go. The statement opens in a separate window, where the printer icon at the top right prints it.

The account basics FAQ describes the same screen with slightly different wording: open the navigation menu, choose Statements, then Statements & Documents, and click PDF next to the statement under Actions. The labels may have shifted between the two pages' revisions; either way you are looking for the Statements area of the main menu.

A few practical points:

  • Use a computer if you need the file itself. Save the PDF rather than printing to paper; a lender, tax preparer or converter needs the original file, not a photo of a printout.
  • Name files as you save them. Something like santander-checking-2026-09.pdf makes a 25-month download session manageable.
  • Savings and money market accounts sit in the same Statements & Documents list as checking, one entry per account and period.

Paper statements: which checking accounts charge for them?

Santander prices paper delivery per account type. These figures were on the US product pages on 26 October 2026:

Checking accountPaper statementPaperless
Simply Right Checking$3 for paper statements$0
Essential CheckingReduced Paper Statement Fee of $2 per statement$0
Santander Select Checking$0 per paper statement$0

Santander's own paperless walkthrough also notes that "some accounts charge a monthly fee for the delivery of paper statements", so check the fee schedule for any account not in this table.

Switching to paperless on a computer (from Santander's paperless video transcript): log in, click the Main Menu at the upper left of the account overview, then Go Paperless in the Statements section (there is also a Go Paperless link in the Quick Links menu). Toggle each account, click Continue, review, and click Continue again.

In the Santander app: tap the gear icon for settings, choose Statements & Paperless, then Manage Paperless Statements, toggle the accounts, tap Save and confirm. Santander then emails you when each statement is ready.

Going paperless does not change the 25-month window, so the habit that matters is downloading each month's PDF when the email arrives.

How do you get old Santander statements beyond 25 months?

Santander's account basics FAQ lists three routes for checking or savings statements that are no longer in Online Banking:

  1. Online request. Log in, open the navigation menu, choose Accounts, then Account Services, then Statement Copy Request. Fill in every required field, tick the box agreeing to pay the Statement Copy Fee, click Continue, verify, and continue again.
  2. Phone. Call the Personal Banking Customer Service Center on 877-768-2265 (Santander lists 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, Monday to Saturday).
  3. Branch. Ask a banker at any Santander branch.

The FAQ does not state the copy fee amount or the delivery time, so ask when you request. Order every month you need in one go; a lender that wants twelve consecutive statements will not accept eleven.

If you only need the transactions rather than the official document, a missing month can sometimes be covered by the account's transaction list or by your own records, but anything going to a lender, court or the IRS should be the bank's statement. Our guide on how to get old bank statements covers what to do when an account is closed.

Business accounts, credit cards and tax forms

Business accounts use Business Online Banking, a separate login from personal banking. Santander's business pages link an eStatements service at estatements.santanderbank.com from the Online Services menu. The steps above are written for personal Online Banking, so expect different screens if you bank as a business.

Credit cards and tax documents. The help pages we read on 26 October 2026 cover deposit statements only. They do not describe where Santander credit card statements or year-end 1099 forms appear online, so we are not going to guess at menu names. Check the Statements & Documents area first, and call the customer service number on the back of your card if they are not there.

Can you export Santander transactions to Excel or QuickBooks?

None of the Santander pages we read describe a CSV, QBO or QFX download of account activity, so we cannot tell you whether one exists or what it is called. Your realistic options are:

  • QuickBooks or Quicken's own bank connection, if they list Santander Bank as a connectable institution. That gives you ongoing transactions, but a bank feed's first download has a limited look-back, so it will not rebuild a year from scratch.
  • Copying from the transaction list in Online Banking into a spreadsheet. Fine for a dozen lines, painful for a year.
  • Converting the statement PDFs. QuickBankConvert reads a downloaded statement and gives one row per transaction (date, description, category, signed amount and running balance where the PDF prints one), with the statement period and opening and closing balances shown so you can check the totals. You upload only the file; it is processed on our servers, a copy is kept, and you can ask us to delete it through the contact page. Spreadsheet downloads are free with an account, and QuickBooks (QBO) or Quicken (QFX) files need a paid plan; see pricing.

If you are converting, our walkthrough on converting a Santander statement to CSV covers the layout, and the PDF to Excel guide covers checking the result.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far back can I see Santander statements online?

Santander Bank's help pages say Online Banking holds up to 25 months of deposit statement copies. Anything older has to be ordered as a statement copy.

How do I order a Santander statement older than 25 months?

In Online Banking go to Accounts, then Account Services, then Statement Copy Request, and accept the Statement Copy Fee. You can also call 877-768-2265 or ask at a branch. Santander keeps statement images for seven rolling calendar years.

Does Santander charge for paper statements?

On some checking accounts, yes. Read on 26 October 2026, Simply Right Checking listed $3 for paper statements, Essential Checking a reduced $2 per statement, and Santander Select Checking $0. Paperless statements are free on all three.

Is this guide about Santander UK?

No. It covers Santander Bank, N.A. in the United States. Santander UK runs a separate website and app with different menus and retention rules.

Can I upload a Santander statement to QuickBooks directly?

QuickBooks does not read statement PDFs as transactions. Either connect the account through QuickBooks' own bank feed, or turn the PDF into a QBO or CSV file first and import that.
