KeyBank Bank Statement PDF: Doc Hub and Paperless Steps

6 min readOctober 26, 2026

Quick Answer: KeyBank keeps your statements in Doc Hub, at the top right of online banking, with up to seven years of checking, savings, loan, line of credit, trust and credit card statements plus tax forms. Each statement is a PDF. To stop paper, open Doc Hub, choose Paperless Preferences under Settings, set the toggle to Paperless and save.

To get a KeyBank bank statement PDF, sign on to KeyBank online banking, click Doc Hub at the top right, and open the month you need from your statement history, which reaches back up to seven years. Switching to paperless in the same place avoids the monthly paper statement fee that applies to some accounts. For transaction files rather than PDFs, KeyBank supports Quicken and QuickBooks through Web Connect.

Where KeyBank puts each kind of record

KeyBank splits "my statement" into a few different things depending on what you actually need. This map is built from KeyBank's Online Bank Statements page and its Online & Mobile Banking FAQ, both read on 26 October 2026.

What you needWhere KeyBank provides itFormat
The official monthly statement for checking or savingsDoc Hub in online bankingPDF
A loan, line of credit or trust statementDoc Hub, alongside deposit statementsPDF
A credit card statementOnline banking, which lists online credit card statements for card accountsPDF

One consolidated document hub for nearly every product is the thing that makes KeyBank easier than many banks: you do not have to hunt through separate card and deposit portals.

How do you download a KeyBank statement PDF?

KeyBank's public page explains the paperless setting step by step, but not the click path for opening an individual statement. Here is the route as far as KeyBank documents it, with the rest described generally:

  1. Sign on to KeyBank online banking.
  2. Click Doc Hub at the top right of the screen.
  3. Find the account and the statement period you want in the list of documents.
  4. Open the statement. It is a PDF, so save it from the viewer or print it.

If the statement does not appear, KeyBank's FAQ gives three checks worth doing in order:

  • Confirm Adobe Acrobat is installed; KeyBank links to a free download.
  • When opening it in Adobe Acrobat Reader, open the file with Protected Mode disabled.
  • The statement opens in a new window, so look behind the online banking window before assuming it failed.

That last one catches more people than you would expect, especially on a laptop with one large window open.

Going paperless with Paperless Preferences

KeyBank lays out the switch in four steps on its statements page:

  1. Sign on to or enroll in online banking.
  2. At the top right, click Doc Hub.
  3. Under Settings on the left, click Paperless Preferences.
  4. Pick one account or All Accounts from the dropdown, set the Preferences toggle to Paperless, and click Save at the bottom right.

Choosing All Accounts saves you repeating the process for each checking, savings and loan account. Once you switch, KeyBank sends a monthly email when the latest statement is ready to view.

KeyBank describes online statements as available at no cost and says going paperless lets you "avoid a monthly applicable paper statement fee." It adds in a footnote that normal account service charges still apply. The fee amount is set per account type and appears in that account's fee disclosure, which you can reach from KeyBank's checking account fees overview. The KeyBank Hassle-Free Account is described there as a checkless, online account, which is worth knowing if paper is something you want to avoid entirely.

How far back can you get KeyBank statements?

KeyBank says you can review up to seven years of statements in online banking. That is longer than many large banks keep online and comfortably covers the period most tax and lending requests ask about.

A few practical points about that seven-year window:

  • It is a rolling window. The oldest month falls off as new ones arrive, so a statement from seven years and one month ago is no longer online.
  • It covers the account types listed above, including trust and loans, not just checking.
  • For anything older, or for an account you closed and can no longer sign on to, contact KeyBank customer service; online banking's technical line listed in the FAQ is 1-800-539-1539 (dial 711 for TTY/TRS). Expect a research request, and ask about any fee before it starts.

If you are gathering statements for a mortgage or rental application, see how to get old bank statements for what to put in the request.

Can you export KeyBank transactions to CSV, QFX or QBO?

KeyBank's FAQ answers the Quicken and QuickBooks question directly: yes, you can link accounts or import transactions from KeyBank digital banking, including KeyBank Business Online.

  • Quicken for Windows: link with Express Web Connect (this needs 3rd Party Access enabled), or import transactions with Web Connect or a Quicken File eXchange (QFX) file.
  • Quicken for Mac: use Quicken Web Connect, or import with Web Connect or a QFX file.
  • QuickBooks: import transactions with Web Connect or a QFX file.
  • Credit cards: the FAQ lists the ability to download transaction history among card features.

The FAQ does not mention a CSV option for deposit accounts or a QBO file by name, so check the download menu inside your own login before planning around either. And remember that these downloads come from your online transaction history, not from the statement archive, so they are best for recent months.

Check images, deposits and balances

A statement answers "what cleared this month," but people often need a little more, and KeyBank's FAQ is specific about what online banking adds:

  • Checks you wrote: you can view images of them in online and mobile banking once they have cleared.
  • Checks you deposited: online banking does not show images of those, only the dates and amounts. If you deposit at a KeyBank ATM, you can choose to have the check images printed on the receipt, so keep that receipt if you may need proof later.
  • Running balances: KeyBank warns that the balances shown next to transactions reflect cleared activity only and leave out outstanding checks and pending items. That is why the FAQ suggests keeping your own ledger, and why the closing balance on the PDF statement, not the online figure, is the number to reconcile against.

If a landlord or lender wants to see a specific deposit, the statement line plus the ATM receipt is usually the combination that answers the question.

When the seven-year archive is PDF only

Here is the common gap: Doc Hub hands you seven years of statements, but only as PDFs, while Web Connect is built for keeping current. If you need, say, 2022 in a spreadsheet, the PDFs are your source. Some ways to bridge it:

  • Excel's Get Data from PDF is free with Microsoft 365 and can work on simple single-page statements.
  • Manual entry is reasonable for a couple of months with few transactions.
  • QuickBankConvert reads a KeyBank statement PDF and lists each transaction with its date, description, category, signed amount and balance where KeyBank prints one. You upload the PDF itself, which is processed and kept on our servers (deletion is on request via the contact page), and nothing asks for your KeyBank sign-on.

CSV and Excel are on the free account; QFX for Quicken and QBO for QuickBooks need a paid plan, shown on the pricing page. For a deeper look at the conversion step, see converting a KeyBank statement to CSV.
