Comerica Bank Statement After Fifth Third: Where to Find It

6 min readOctober 26, 2026

Quick Answer: Comerica Bank is now a division of Fifth Third, and on 26 October 2026 comerica.com redirects to 53.com, so statements are reached through Fifth Third's online banking. Comerica's own FAQ said Web Banking showed 24 months of eStatements under E-Statement and six months of history you could export to Quicken, QuickBooks or Excel. Direct Express cardholders get statements from usdirectexpress.com or the card's app, not from Comerica Web Banking.

Getting a Comerica bank statement in late 2026 means knowing which system your account sits on. Comerica became part of Fifth Third Bank, and comerica.com now forwards to Fifth Third's site. Ordinary checking and savings statements are PDFs in online banking, kept for about two years. Direct Express benefit cards have their own website and app, and tax forms are separate documents again.

What changed with Fifth Third?

The footer on Comerica's pages in 2026 reads "Comerica Bank, a division of Fifth Third Bank, N.A.", and when we loaded www.comerica.com on 26 October 2026 it returned a redirect to www.53.com. In practice that means three things for statements:

  • Use the login your bank last told you to use. If you received conversion letters or emails, they name the date your accounts moved and the site to use afterwards. If you never logged in after the change, start at 53.com and follow its prompts for former Comerica customers, or call the number on your statement.
  • Download what you can as soon as you are in. Statements issued before a system conversion are the ones people most often struggle to find later. Save every month you can see.
  • Old Comerica help pages may now land somewhere else. We relied on archived copies of Comerica's FAQ for the details below because the live pages forward to Fifth Third.

How did statements work in Comerica Web Banking?

Comerica's Web Banking FAQ (archived copy from July 2026, read on 26 October 2026) answered the common questions directly:

  1. Where is my statement? Log in to Comerica Web Banking and select E-Statement at the top. The FAQ said this showed 24 months of prior statements.
  2. How do I turn off paper? Select eStatement at the top and use the Stop Paper toggle.
  3. How do I know a new one is ready? An email goes to the address on file.
  4. How much transaction history is there? The last six months in Web Banking, with two years of eStatements for anything older.

The FAQ also said you could download account history to Quicken, QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, and the online banking page described exporting "a full six-month report of your account history". That six-month window is the important limit: anything older than half a year was only available as a statement PDF.

Where are statements now, on Fifth Third's side?

Fifth Third's paperless statements page (archived April 2026, read on 26 October 2026) describes the Fifth Third set-up:

  • Online statements cover up to 24 months, and Fifth Third says eStatements and check images for that period are available at no charge.
  • In the app: log in, tap the Profile icon, choose Enrollments, tap Paperless Statements, tick the documents you want electronically and tap Save Changes.
  • In online banking: tick the documents to switch to paperless delivery and click Save.
  • Every account type except a Fifth Third Securities brokerage account is eligible.

The window is the same two years Comerica offered. What we could not confirm is how many months of pre-conversion Comerica statements carried over into Fifth Third's archive. If a month you need is missing, ask Fifth Third for a statement copy rather than assuming it is gone.

Direct Express statements are a separate system

Many people searching "Direct Express Comerica bank statements" receive Social Security or other federal benefits on the Direct Express Mastercard prepaid card. Comerica was the card's financial agent for years. The Direct Express website (read on 26 October 2026) now says Fifth Third replaces Comerica in that role, and that cardholders with a Comerica-issued card can keep using it until the new Fifth Third card arrives. Existing Comerica cardholders are told to keep using their current app until further notice.

Your card's history is on usdirectexpress.com, in the Direct Express app, or by phone on the number on the back of the card. The fee tables on the site differ by card issuer:

Card issued byMonthly paper statement by mailHow to see activity without a fee
Comerica$0.75 a monthWebsite, app or customer service
Fifth ThirdListed among the no-fee servicesMobile app, usdirectexpress.com or customer service

If an agency or landlord asks for proof of benefit deposits, the card's online history is usually enough to print. A benefit award letter from the paying agency is the document that proves the amount; the card statement shows that it arrived.

Comerica tax statements

A "Comerica tax statement" usually means a Form 1099-INT for interest earned. Comerica's archived FAQ did not describe tax forms, so check the tax documents area of your current online banking or call customer service. For context, the IRS instructions on Form 1099-INT say a payer files one for each person paid at least $10 of reportable interest, so a low-interest checking account may not generate one at all. Your December statement still shows the interest paid during the year.

Which Comerica document does the request actually need?

People often download the wrong thing and get sent back. A quick map:

  • A lender or landlord asking for "two months of statements" wants every page of the monthly PDF, including pages that look empty, exactly as the bank produced it. A transaction export or a screenshot is usually refused.
  • A tax preparer wants the 1099-INT if one was issued, plus the December statement if you hold an interest-bearing account.
  • A benefits caseworker checking Direct Express deposits generally wants the card's transaction history for the months in question, printed from usdirectexpress.com.
  • A bookkeeper wants the transactions as rows, which is where an export or a converted PDF comes in.

Requesting statements you cannot see online

Anything older than about 24 months, or a month that did not survive the conversion, has to be requested. Have the account number, the months, and the reason (some requests are prioritised for legal or benefit deadlines) ready when you call. For general tips on what to ask and how long it can take, see how to get old bank statements.

Once you have the PDF

The six-month Excel export Comerica offered no longer helps with older periods, so the statement PDF becomes your data source. To turn it into rows, our Comerica statement to Excel guide covers the layout. In short, you upload the PDF to QuickBankConvert, check the on-screen preview, and with a free account download it as CSV or Excel. The file is uploaded and stored on our servers; you can ask for deletion through the contact page. Compare the closing balance in the preview with the statement before you rely on the rows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Comerica Bank part of Fifth Third now?

Yes. Comerica's 2026 pages describe it as a division of Fifth Third Bank, N.A., and comerica.com redirected to 53.com when we checked on 26 October 2026.

How many months of Comerica statements can I see online?

Comerica's FAQ said Web Banking showed 24 months of eStatements and six months of transaction history. Fifth Third's eStatements page also states 24 months.

How do I get a Direct Express statement?

Use usdirectexpress.com, the Direct Express app or the phone number on the back of the card. Comerica-issued cards charge $0.75 a month for a mailed paper statement; the Fifth Third card's fee table lists it among the no-fee services.

Why didn't I get a Comerica 1099-INT?

The IRS requires a 1099-INT when reportable interest is at least $10, so small amounts may not produce a form. Check the tax documents area of online banking or ask customer service if you expected one.

Can I still export Comerica transactions to Excel?

Comerica Web Banking offered six months of history for Quicken, QuickBooks and Excel. For older months, or if your account has moved to a new platform, convert the statement PDF instead.
