Citizens Bank Statement PDF: Where to Download It

7 min readOctober 26, 2026

Quick Answer: Log in to Citizens Online Banking and open the DOCUMENT CENTER tab. Use the Filter to pick the account and time frame, then save the statement PDF. Citizens keeps up to 18 months of statements there; for anything older, use the Contact Us link to order a copy.

A Citizens Bank statement PDF lives in one place: the Document Center inside Citizens Online Banking, which also holds check images, tax forms and account notices. Roughly the last year and a half of statements can be downloaded on the spot. Older months have to be requested from Citizens, and credit cards, mortgages and student loans may sit behind a different login altogether.

Where is the Document Center, and what is in it?

Citizens' own Mobile and Online Banking FAQ (read on 26 October 2026) answers this directly: log in to Online Banking and click the DOCUMENT CENTER tab. The bank describes it as the single place it puts "important account documents", and it lists what you will find there:

  • Account statements for most deposit, line of credit and loan accounts
  • Check images for cleared checks
  • 1099-INT and other tax forms
  • Certain notices, such as CD maturity notices and overdraft or insufficient funds notices (Citizens calls these eNotices)

To pull a statement, Citizens says to "use the Filter to select the account and timeframe for the statement you are requesting." The statement then opens and can be saved or downloaded. The FAQ adds that statements "can be saved or downloaded any time for longer storage needs", which is a polite hint that the online archive is not permanent.

If you sign in through the mobile app, you use the same User ID and Password you created when you enrolled in Citizens Bank Online, according to the same FAQ. For saving a PDF you plan to convert or email, a laptop is usually easier: the file lands in your Downloads folder instead of a phone's share sheet.

How far back do Citizens statements go online?

This is the number that trips people up. Citizens publishes two limits, and they cover different things.

What you wantHow far back Online Banking reachesWhere it is
Monthly statement PDFsUp to 18 monthsDOCUMENT CENTER tab
Transaction history on screenUp to 18 monthsThe account's transaction history
Personal credit card statement activity12 monthsCredit card online access
Statements older than 18 monthsNot online; order a copyContact Us link

All four rows come from the Citizens Online Banking FAQ, read on 26 October 2026. The practical effect: if a mortgage lender, an accountant or a court asks for two full years of checking statements, about six of those months will not be in the Document Center. Start the request for the older months before you need them rather than on the day the application is due.

The same 18-month window applies to the transaction history screen, so you cannot get around it by exporting older activity instead.

Ordering statements older than 18 months

Citizens' FAQ says that if you need a statement older than 18 months, "simply click on the 'Contact Us' link." From there you can call or chat with a representative. A few things make the request go faster:

  1. Know the exact months. "All of 2023" is clearer than "a couple of years ago."
  2. Name each account. Checking, savings and a home equity line each have their own statement.
  3. Ask how the copy will arrive. It may be mailed or posted, and that changes how quickly you can use it.
  4. Ask about cost up front. Citizens' FAQ notes that "fees may apply" for check copy requests; we could not find a published figure for statement copies, so confirm it on the call.

Online Banking customer service is listed at 1-800-656-6561 for personal accounts and 1-877-229-6428 for business accounts on the Citizens pages we read. For background on why banks cap online history and what else you can try, see our guide to getting old bank statements.

Which Citizens login has your statement?

Citizens is a large regional bank with several separate online services, and its login menu reflects that. Next to Personal/Small Business Online Banking it lists Credit Card Online Services, Business Credit Card Online Services, Access My Mortgage, Access My Personal Loan, Access My Student Loan, Access My Auto Loan and Citizens Pay, among others.

The FAQ does say personal Online Banking users can see credit cards and mortgages alongside deposit accounts, but if a statement you expect is missing from the Document Center, it is worth checking whether that product has its own portal. A Citizens Pay installment plan or a student loan refinance, for example, is serviced separately from your checking account. If an account simply does not appear, Citizens asks personal customers to call 1-800-656-6561.

Should you use the Export button or the statement PDF?

Citizens offers both, and they answer different questions.

The export is for software. Asked whether you can move banking information into Quicken, Citizens' FAQ answers that you click on the account, "then use the 'Export' button and select your download criteria and format you need." It does not list the formats on that page, so check the options the Export screen offers before you assume Quicken, QuickBooks or plain CSV. Because the export draws on transaction history, it reaches back the same 18 months.

The statement PDF is the bank's official monthly record. It shows the statement period, beginning and ending balances and every posted item, which is what a landlord, a lender or the IRS means when they say "bank statement." It is also the only option for months that have aged out of transaction history but that you saved earlier.

A simple rule: if you are filling a gap in Quicken or a budgeting sheet for recent months, try Export first. If you need a document someone else will accept, or the period is older, use the PDF.

Turning a Citizens statement PDF into a spreadsheet

A PDF is fine for reading but awkward for totals, sorting by payee or matching against your books. You have a few ways to get the rows out:

  • Copy and paste works for a short statement with few lines, though dates and amounts often land in the wrong columns.
  • Excel's Get Data from PDF feature detects tables page by page. It does well on simple layouts and needs cleanup where a description wraps onto a second line.
  • A statement converter. QuickBankConvert takes the PDF you saved from the Document Center and returns one row per transaction with the date, description, category and a signed amount (withdrawals negative), plus the running balance if the statement prints one. It reads the statement period and opening and closing balances as well, so you can check them against the PDF before downloading. There is no Citizens login involved: only the file goes up, it is processed on our servers and a copy is kept, which you can ask us to remove via the contact page.

CSV and Excel downloads work on a free account. QuickBooks (QBO) and Quicken (QFX) files need a paid plan; the pricing page lists them. Our separate walkthrough on converting a Citizens Bank statement to Excel covers the conversion step in more depth, and the general PDF to Excel guide explains what to expect from scanned versus downloaded files.

Whichever method you use, compare the ending balance in your spreadsheet with the ending balance printed on the statement. If they match, the rows are complete.

Paper statements, mailing addresses and tax forms

Citizens lets you control where account documents are mailed. Its FAQ explains that you can submit a change to your physical address in Online Banking, and that you can "add separate mailing addresses for each of your accounts" if you do not want account documents and cards mailed to your home. To do that, open Profile & Settings, choose Personal Information, and scroll to Mailing Addresses (retail customers only, per the FAQ).

On tax forms, Citizens says a form issued for your account is posted to the Document Center by the date shown in its table, and mailed to you if your paperless preferences say so. The 1099-INT, for interest of $10 or more, is listed with a January 31 date. That is a useful reminder each January: the tax form and the December statement both end up in the same tab.

Citizens also lets you set an alert for when an e-statement is in, under its account alerts. Turning that on is the easiest way to remember to save each month's PDF before it ages past 18 months.

A short checklist before you send a statement to anyone

  • Download the PDF directly from the Document Center rather than screenshotting the screen; recipients often reject images.
  • Keep the whole statement, including pages that only carry disclosures. Some lenders want every page.
  • If you need more than 18 months, order the older ones now.
  • Store your own copies. Citizens tells you to save statements "for longer storage needs" for a reason.
  • For a full year of history in one sheet, convert each monthly PDF and stack the rows, then check each month's ending balance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are statements in Citizens Online Banking?

Under the DOCUMENT CENTER tab. Use the Filter to choose the account and time frame, then open and save the PDF. The same tab holds check images, eNotices and tax forms.

Can I get a Citizens Bank statement from three years ago?

Not from the Document Center, which keeps up to 18 months. Use the Contact Us link in Online Banking to order the older statement, and ask how it will be delivered and whether a fee applies.

Does Citizens let me export transactions for Quicken?

Yes. Citizens says to click the account, use the Export button, and choose the download criteria and format. The export covers transaction history, which reaches back up to 18 months.

Why is my Citizens credit card statement not in the Document Center?

Citizens runs several separate online services, including Credit Card Online Services and portals for mortgages and loans. Check the login for that product, or call 1-800-656-6561 if an account is missing.

Can I send Citizens statements to a different mailing address?

Yes. In Profile & Settings, open Personal Information and use Mailing Addresses to add a separate address for each account, so statements and cards do not go to your home address.
