Brex Bank Statement: Card, Banking and CSV Exports
Quick Answer: In the Brex dashboard, click your name at the top left and choose Statements and documents. Pick Card, Banking or Reimbursement under Statements, then click the download icon on a row. Statements download only as PDF; for a spreadsheet, export transactions as XLSX or CSV from the account or Expenses pages.
A "Brex bank statement" can mean three different documents, because Brex issues separate statements for its corporate card, its business account and employee reimbursements. All three sit in one place in the dashboard and download as PDFs. Transaction-level spreadsheets come from a different screen, and Brex keeps both available even after an account is closed.

Which Brex statement do you actually need?
Brex's help article Documents for your account (read on 26 October 2026) lists the statement types and where each lives. In short:
| Document | Where in the dashboard | Format | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Card statement | Statements and documents > Card | PDF (balance also via XLSX) | Paying and reconciling the card |
| Business account statement | Statements and documents > Banking | Proof of funds, reconciling checking, treasury and vault | |
| Reimbursement statement | Statements and documents > Reimbursement | Out-of-pocket expenses paid back to staff | |
| Custom credit report | Accounts > Credit, choose a date range | XLSX, CSV, PDF or HTM | A monthly summary when you pay daily |
| Card expense download | Expenses, then Download | Your choice of file format | Coding spend by person, card or category |
| Business account transactions | Accounts > View all accounts > Export | Export file | Bank-side activity for the books |
Your payment plan changes what a card statement covers. Brex's statement payment article says the statement period is generally one month on the Brex card with monthly payments and one business day on the card with daily payments. A company on daily payments therefore has no natural monthly card statement to hand an accountant, which is exactly why Brex offers the custom credit report: go to Accounts > Credit, pick the billing group if you have several entities, enter the month as the date range, and click Download. The card statement PDF itself opens with a summary showing this period's activity and the ending balance, which includes anything carried over from earlier periods.
If a lender or underwriter asks for "bank statements", they nearly always mean the Banking PDF. If your controller asks, they usually mean the card statement or an expense download.
How do you download each statement?
Brex says account admins, card admins, bookkeepers, and other users with the right product permission can download statements. The steps, from the same article:
Card statements
- Click your name at the top left of the dashboard and select Statements and documents.
- Under the Statements section, choose Card on the left.
- Statements appear as each cycle ends. Click the download icon on the right of a row.
For spend through an embedded partner, the row's three-dot menu offers a CSV statement for that partner only.
Business account statements
- Open Statements and documents from your name.
- Choose Banking on the left.
- Find the statement in the Banking statements table next to the account, and click the download icon.
Brex notes that these appear within the first week of the following month, so an October statement is not there on 1 November.
Reimbursement statements follow the same route with Reimbursement selected.
Getting Brex data into a spreadsheet
Brex is unusually generous with exports, so a PDF converter is rarely the first tool to reach for. The help article states that a statement itself downloads only as a PDF, but card transactions can be pulled as XLSX, CSV, HTML or TXT by entering a date range in the credit transactions view, and that any table you download as CSV opens in Excel.
The Expenses page is the most flexible. Click the gear icon to choose columns, filter the list, optionally Save view for next month, then click Download and pick a format. Ticking Include receipts in download adds the receipt images, ordered by purchase date and expense ID. Admins and bookkeepers get the whole company's card spend; other users get only their own.
For the bank side, go to Accounts, open the Brex accounts table, choose View all accounts, filter, and click Export.
If your company runs an ERP or accounting integration, Brex's exporting to your integration article describes sending transactions straight across, by default as journal entries, after required accounting fields such as GL accounts are filled in. That replaces both the PDF and the CSV for day-to-day bookkeeping.
Does a Brex statement show every account number?
Partly, and this is a detail worth knowing. Brex's business account article explains that the account has three parts: checking, a commercial deposit account provided by Column N.A., Member FDIC; and treasury and vault, cash management services from Brex Treasury LLC. Treasury and vault cannot send or receive outside funds, so their account numbers are not shown in the dashboard's account details. Brex says you find those numbers on your monthly statements, under Statements and documents > Banking.
When a vendor wants account details instead of a statement, Brex provides an account verification letter rather than voided checks. For checking, it is under Wire instructions above the transactions table.
The site footer also states that Brex LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Capital One, N.A. Statements still come from the Brex dashboard, not from Capital One's online banking.
What happens to statements after you close Brex?
Brex is clear here. Its account closure article says that after closure you can still sign in with your email and password for read-only access, see past activity, and download statements and other documents, and that this read-only access is never revoked. The documents article adds that if you cannot log in, contact Brex Support.
That is more forgiving than many banks, but download a full set anyway when you close. Your accountant may lose their own login, and email addresses tied to a former domain can stop working.
When converting a Brex PDF is still useful
Given the exports above, here are the cases where turning a statement PDF into rows still makes sense:
- Only the PDF reached you. Auditors, lenders and new bookkeepers are often sent PDFs. Converting them saves asking the client to log in again.
- You need the statement's own totals in rows. An export reflects your filters; the statement reflects what Brex billed for the cycle. Converting the card PDF gives you rows that match the billed period. Brex's statement payment article explains that pending transactions on the last day of a period are due in the next one, which is why an export and a statement for "the same month" can differ.
- You want QBO or QIF. Some desktop tools want those formats. A converted file can be QBO, QFX or QIF on a paid plan (pricing).
With QuickBankConvert you upload the PDF and nothing signs in to Brex. The file is sent over HTTPS, parsed on our servers, and a copy is stored; ask for deletion through the contact page. Compare the closing balance in the preview with the PDF before downloading. For card statements specifically, see credit card statement to Excel.
Tax forms sit in the same menu
Under Statements and documents, the Taxes section has 1099 tax forms. Brex's documents page explains which customers get a 1099-DIV (dividends over $10 from the money market fund behind treasury), a 1099-INT (cash bonuses of $10 or more in the business account) or a 1099-MISC, and that Brex does not issue 1099-Ks because a card issuer does not pay cardholders.
