Ally Bank Statement: PDF, CSV and QFX Downloads
Quick Answer: Ally Bank sends one monthly statement that covers all your Ally Bank deposit accounts, including CDs, by email or by mail. Log in at ally.com or in the Ally app to open the PDF. For a spreadsheet, select an account, scroll to Transactions History and use the download icon to save up to 18 months of activity as CSV or Quicken (QFX).
Ally Bank is online-only, so its statement is something you download rather than pick up at a branch. The unusual part is that one Ally statement bundles checking, savings, money market and CDs together, on a cycle set by the day you opened your account. Recent activity can also be downloaded as CSV or QFX, which is often quicker than converting a PDF.

How does an Ally Bank statement differ from a typical bank's?
Most banks send a separate statement per account. Ally's account information help page (read on 26 October 2026) describes a different arrangement:
- One statement for everything. "If you have a savings or checking account with us, we'll send you one statement monthly (by mail or email) for all of your accounts, including CDs."
- Cycles depend on the product. Interest Checking, Money Market and Savings run monthly. CDs and IRAs run quarterly, except that a CD with electronic transfers gets a monthly statement whenever a transfer occurs.
- Your statement date is personal. Ally says the day your cycle ends "is based on the day you opened your account." Two Ally customers can have statements that close on different days of the month.
- Consumer accounts only. Ally's help pages say it does not currently offer business banking products, so an "Ally business statement" usually means a sole proprietor using a personal account.
That combined layout matters most when you hand the statement to someone or turn it into a spreadsheet, which the sections below cover.
Getting the PDF from online banking or the app
Sign in at ally.com or in the Ally app and look for your statements among your account documents. Ally's public help pages that we could read do not spell out the exact menu path to the statement list, so we will not guess one here; if you cannot find it, Ally's customer care is available by phone or chat around the clock, or by secure Ally Email from inside online banking.
Two settings are worth checking while you are signed in:
- Delivery. Ally says the monthly statement goes out "by mail or email". If you want paper for your records, or want to stop it, confirm which one you are on.
- Contact details. Ally lets you update your email, street address and phone in online banking, though name and address changes need identity verification by phone at 1-877-247-2559. An out-of-date email means the statement notice goes nowhere.
Save each month's PDF somewhere you control. If you ever close your accounts, the online archive becomes time-limited, as described further down.
Downloading Ally transactions as CSV or QFX
For budgeting, bookkeeping or a tax spreadsheet, you may not need the statement at all. Ally's help center explains the download in one sentence: "log in, and select the account. Scroll to the Transactions History, and select the download icon. You can download and save your account activity in a Comma Separated Value (CSV) file or a Quicken (QFX) file."
The limit is history. Ally lists "See up to 18 months of account activity" among its online banking features, so the download reaches roughly a year and a half back.
| You need | Best source at Ally | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Last few months of checking activity in Excel or Google Sheets | Transactions History download | CSV |
| Activity for Quicken | Transactions History download | QFX |
| The official record for a lender, landlord or the IRS | Monthly statement | |
| Activity older than about 18 months | Saved monthly statements | PDF, then convert |
| Interest earned this year or last | Account details (Interest YTD, More Details for prior year) | On screen; tax form for filing |
The CSV opens directly in Excel. If you are moving it into QuickBooks or Xero rather than a spreadsheet, the QuickBooks import guide and the Xero guide explain what each program expects.
When you have to work from the PDF
The download stops at 18 months, so any older period means going back to statement PDFs. People hit this when they rebuild a full tax year late, answer an audit letter, or prepare a mortgage file that asks for two years.
Because an Ally statement lists several accounts in one document, a straight copy into Excel puts savings interest, CD activity and checking debits in the same column. Some options:
- Excel's Get Data from PDF finds the tables on each page. You then remove the repeated headers and the section breaks between accounts.
- Adobe Acrobat's export to Excel keeps more of the layout, which helps with wrapped descriptions but leaves you deleting summary rows.
- A statement converter. QuickBankConvert reads the PDF into rows with date, description, category, signed amount and, where printed, the running balance; it also pulls out the period and the opening and closing balances so you can compare them. You give it only the downloaded statement, not your Ally credentials. The PDF is uploaded and parsed on our servers, a copy is retained, and the contact page is where you ask for deletion.
Since the output is one list per file, a multi-account Ally statement comes out as one combined list. Add an "Account" column in the spreadsheet and fill it using the section headings in the PDF, then check each section's ending balance separately. Transfers between your own Ally accounts will show twice, once leaving and once arriving. A free account downloads CSV and Excel; formats such as QBO and QFX are on paid plans listed on the pricing page. Can you still see statements after closing your Ally accounts?
Yes, within limits. Ally says: "You can access your account information online for 60 days. If you've closed all your Ally Bank accounts, you can still view statements and tax forms for the last 7 years online."
Read that carefully. The detailed account information goes away after 60 days, but statements and tax forms stay viewable for seven years once everything is closed. If you are switching banks, download the CSV of your activity before those 60 days run out, because after that only the PDFs remain. For statements beyond what is online, our guide on requesting old bank statements covers what to ask for.
What does "ALLY" on another bank statement mean?
If you searched for "Ally Ally payment on bank statement", you are probably looking at your checking account at another bank and seeing a line with Ally's name. Ally Bank is one part of Ally Financial, whose app also covers auto financing and investing, so the line could be:
- A transfer you set up between your outside bank and your Ally Bank savings
- A payment to an Ally auto loan or other Ally product
- A small trial deposit or withdrawal used to verify a linked account
We could not find an Ally page that documents the exact wording these lines use, so match the date and amount instead. Log in to Ally, find the same amount in Transactions History or in your loan's payment history, and the mystery is solved. If nothing matches and you do not have an Ally relationship, treat it like any other unknown charge and call your own bank.
Fees and paper
Ally states that it has "no monthly maintenance fees whatsoever" on its bank accounts, and its online banking page notes it reimburses up to $10 per statement cycle for fees other ATM operators charge. We did not find a published fee for mailed statements or statement copies on the pages we read, so if you need certified or older copies, ask customer care before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ally Bank give a separate statement for each account?
No. If you have an Ally savings or checking account, Ally sends one monthly statement covering all your accounts, CDs included. CDs and IRAs on their own follow a quarterly cycle.
Can I download Ally Bank transactions to Excel?
Yes. Select the account, scroll to Transactions History and use the download icon. Choose CSV for Excel or QFX for Quicken. Online activity goes back up to 18 months.
Why does my Ally statement end on an odd day of the month?
Ally sets your statement date from the day you opened your account, so your cycle may close mid-month rather than on the last day.
How long can I see statements after closing my Ally account?
Account information stays online for 60 days. If you closed all your Ally Bank accounts, statements and tax forms remain viewable online for the last seven years.
Does Ally Bank offer business account statements?
Ally says it does not currently offer business banking products, so there is no separate Ally business statement. Sole proprietors using a personal Ally account get the standard combined statement.
